Description

Leading the global sales function for the biotechnology business unit, the Vice President of Global Sales is responsible for driving Pall's strategic sales activities, policies, objectives, and initiatives to ensure sustainable growth and profitability. Representing the company with its major customers and the public, this position is pivotal to improving key customer relationships. This role will provide leadership, management, and coaching to ensure sales force effectiveness and support of the overall operations of the business.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead global Biotech Territory Sales organization to meet or exceed AOP revenue and profit targets by driving sales of Biotech consumables, hardware, systems and new product introductions.
  • Identify select, large-scale opportunities and deploy resources to project teams tasked with winning orders.
  • Represent Pall Biotech at critical meetings with customers and Key Opinion Leaders.
  • Lead strategic growth initiatives.
  • Lead the global Biotech Win-the-Spec program to drive Pall Biotech products being specified in customers’ early-stage drug development process.
  • Lead the Continuous Bioprocessing program to demonstrate Pall’s capabilities and build customer intimacy and brand recognition.
  • Lead the Bioreactor program.
  • Use VOC to inform continuous improvement initiatives and instill discipline with respect to sales funnel management and other Standard Work and DBS tools.
  • Through critical insight on customer biotech/biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, support team to formulate strategies to develop and support solutions that meet or exceed customers’ needs and expectations and simultaneously expand Biotech’s business by gaining market share in existing and new accounts.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Supply Chain and other teams in Pall to ensure full execution of our sales strategies in the region (including orders, shipments, AR collections, contracts including renewals).
  • Lead sales funnel reviews and ensure reporting of all business opportunities, solution concepts and strategies to Pall management through the use of CRM and provide voice of customer and applications feedback to product development teams.
  • Communicate business strategy and tactics clearly to your team and provide feedback to colleagues, the management team and other Pall teams on progress, opportunities and challenges in the geography.
  • Continually monitor technological changes, market trends, competitive products/pricing, and be a key participant in identifying and analyzing the products, services and solutions to be developed and delivered to the marketplace.
  • Use rewards and recognition to help cultivate a customer mindset, leadership at every level, performance excellence, teamwork and compliance with Danaher’s Code of Conduct.
  • Responsible for talent management to ensure the continued development for direct reports. Partner closely with the human resources organization in developing organizational capabilities through succession planning, organizational assessment, identification of key skill gaps, talent acquisition and talent development strategies that link with business goals.


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Business or Life Sciences discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15 years of Sales Management experience focusing on growth strategies, furthering customer relationships, consultative selling, contract negotiation skills and funnel management.
  • 7+ years of biotechnology experience selling relevant life science or related technologies, with an expert understanding of the biotechnology/biopharmaceutical manufacturing process flow.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements for biomanufacturing.

  • Contributes to the development of functional/operational long-term strategy and develops annual business plans to ensure alignment.
