Description

The Distribution Value Stream Manager, leads a Value Stream within the Hebron, KY Distribution facility and ensures that the building meets or exceeds the tactical and strategic goals of the organization.  This position leads the team in the execution of the day-to-day operations of a fast-paced distribution environment, while ensuring strategic safety, quality, productivity, delivery and associate engagement goals are met. The incumbent analyzes, builds and implements distribution plans to support customer expectations including on time delivery, quality, productivity and various other metrics specific to appropriate functional areas. The selected candidate develops and implements process improvement projects, practices Lean & Six Sigma principles to achieve established goals and objectives. The selected candidate manages and controls incoming inventory products and ensures finished goods inventory integrity.  Distribution Value Stream Manager is responsible for:

  • Partnering with leadership to build and communicate the facility vision, plans, and objectives to the team.
  • Creating and fostering a site wide culture of accountability, engagement, quality, and customer satisfaction in a Lean environment.
  • Ensuring a funnel of productivity projects are developed and completed on time within budget and manages the development of processes and procedures to implement functional strategies
  • Managing all distribution activities with a staff to ensure assignments and daily objectives are met on or ahead of schedule by ensuring operation is adequately staffed and properly trained.           
  • Compliance with applicable agencies including FAA, IMDG, IATA, FDA and DOT.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners to complete cross functional business projects.
  • Building and sustaining a culture that utilizes Lean principles & methods to increase productivity & eliminate waste.
  • Proactively identifies distribution issues or problems and develops and implements corrective actions to address root causes
  • Evaluates shift workloads and enables the team to ensure daily operational requirements are met.
  • Responds to internal and external customers questions and requests. 
  • Tracks productivity and other established facility goals.   Develop additional metrics as needed to improve and manage distribution processes.
  • Selects, coaches and counsels DC supervision. Enforcing systems, policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and productivity standards. 
  • Establishing and promoting a best in class safety culture at the distribution center.
  • Traveling to other Beckman Coulter facilities, and attending Kaizen/Training events as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a bachelor degree in business, Engineering or related field with 14+ years’ experience in a logistics and distribution environment or a Master’s Degree with 12+ years logistics and distribution experience.  Candidates should possess prior experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14385, CAPA process, Oracle, WMS, Microsoft Office applications, and Lean / Six Sigma.
