The Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) Project Manager will report to the Global Procurement VAVE Manager and will be responsible for the management and execution of assigned projects to reduce the total cost of ownership of equipment in support of the corporate annual cost improvement goals.  This objective will be realized through productivity improvements utilizing VAVE tools and strategic cost management processes.  The success of this position will be contingent on working with cross-functional and regional teams in the prioritization and execution of identified cost improvement opportunities.

• Deploy VAVE program globally throughout Videojet to achieve total cost improvement goals
• Develop and execute annual project plan with ‘Preferred’ suppliers to ensure VAVE year-over-year cost improvement goals are met
• Own overall project management for VAVE projects including development and execution of action plans and tracking of projects using daily visual management boards
• Ensure engagement of cross-functional and regional teams’ participation in the VAVE process (including R&D, Product Management, Technical Support, Manufacturing, Procurement and Finance)
• Lead internal and supplier VAVE workshops to identify cost savings opportunities and eliminate waste through the entire value stream by using the VAVE process
• Develop and implement Should-Cost models
• Conduct product teardowns and benchmark analysis of competitive products
• Work closely with ‘Preferred’ suppliers to understand their manufacturing capabilities and processes to identify cost savings opportunities

Job Requirements


• BS degree in Engineering

• 5+ years in an industrial/supply chain environment

• Strong project management skills required, PMP certification a plus
• Leadership skills necessary to influence and lead cross-functional project teams as well as negotiate with supply base
• Knowledge and experience with Design for Manufacturing and Should-Cost tools
• Previous success with Cost Improvement project management, understanding cost drivers, constructing total cost of ownership (TCO) models and implementation of cost improvement projects
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Capability to present and teach VAVE concepts to suppliers and peer groups
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Engineering systems knowledge, SolidWorks, Engineering change process
• Microsoft Project

• 10% as required to suppliers or other company locations, domestic and international
