Today, for our Nijmegen site (Netherlands), we are looking for a Trade Compliance specialist to join our existing team. You will directly support the Sr.Trade Compliance Manager and will be responsible for all day to day “transactional” import and export trade compliance activities.  You will support the trade compliance process improvements to optimize the supply chain and will be the primary point of contact for answering questions and resolving import export day-to-day trade compliance issues.

How you will make an impact:

  • You support and Assist the Sr. Trade Compliance manager on the Export activities in the EMEA region.

  • You support the Sr. Trade Compliance manager to comply with the company International Customs compliance program to ensure import export operations are conducted in accordance with the company’s Global Customs regulatory guidelines. Maintain International Customs, import -and export policy and procedures manuals.

  • You ensure data integrity with regards to Customs documentation, product classification, country of origin, BTI, Free Trade Agreement eligibility and valuation. In close collaboration with other Global Trade personnel, assign HS and Dual-Use export control classification codes

  • You assist the company in preparing, submitting, tracking, and monitor certificate of origin documentation and any special permit required for the importation or exportation of merchandise.

  • You oversee manual and automated commercial documentation to ensure each shipment is performed in a timely and complete manner.

  • You facilitate import- and export into countries in the region by maintaining an effective and efficient flow of international shipments in collaboration with brokers, Global Logistics, Third Party Vendors, Finance, and Legal etc. to ensure proper commercial documentation is included and transactions are in compliance with International import- and export regulations

  • You perform internal audits/risk assessments of import- and export transactions according to the internal policy.

  • You manage daily the GTM trade transaction screening, support GTM global functions, and active participation in GTM I.T. business support/enhancement activities

  • You are responsible for GTM export license management and escalation support under supervision of Sr. Trade Compliance Manager.

  • You effectively interact with multiple government agencies such as Local Chambers of Commerce under the supervision of the Sr. Trade Compliance Manager

Job Requirements


Your background and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree & 3 years of Export Operations and Supply Chain experience OR Associate's degree & 5 years of Export Operations and Supply Chain experience OR High school diploma/GED & 8 years of Export Operations and Supply Chain experience

  • Systems experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, power point, Visio, and Excel a must) and Oracle applications (CONSOR, Global Trade Management, and Business Intelligence)

Your qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Dual Use regulations such as but not limited to 428/2009.

  • Experience in global trade (customs and export), and familiarity with international brokerage or other high-volume global shipping and logistics

  • Solid classification experience with Export Controls laws (ECCNs) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)

  • Thorough knowledge of EU customs and export control regulations and working knowledge of US regulations (BIS, OFAC)

  • Familiarity with the ERP system Oracle Global Trade Management

  • Multiple years’ experience in export - and import operations and/or freight forwarder operations

  • Fluent Dutch and good command of English, an additional language would be a plus

  • Demonstrated ability in DBS tools
