POSITION OVERVIEW: 
This position leads the equipment wellness initiative including preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and recommendations for long-term improvements



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sets up, operates, maintains and repairs a variety of packaging and production equipment
  • Troubleshoots parts and equipment problems; and performs repairs in:
    • Mechanical problems
    • Electrical and controller problems
    • Pneumatic problems
  • Removes and replaces perishable parts; makes adjustments as necessary for cleaning, set-up and operation of assigned equipment
  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs, but is not responsible for major rebuilds such as repair/replacement of mechanical drive train or power supply components
  • Assists in training new personnel and fills in for operators as required
  • Responsible for various record keeping activities, such as:
    • Visual management
    • Preventative Maintenance Logs
  • Devises monthly, weekly, and daily schedules and communicates job assignments to department personnel  
  • Completes various Quality Control tests to assure proper machine function

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to independently solve mathematical equations
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of manufacturing/production experience
  • 1+ year of experience required in electro-mechanical troubleshooting
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of FDA requirements for record keeping
  • Technical abilities 
  • Independent, creative, and solution-focused problem solving abilities 
  • Ability to lead quality improvements while meeting customer demand
  • Strong communication in English (reading, writing, and verbal)
