Description

  • Support design and development of functional test fixtures for electronic sub-assemblies used in Mass Spectrometers.
  • Work collaboratively with test engineering team.
  • Assemble test fixtures and universal test systems, including mechanical, cabling, wiring, PCB assembly, etc.
  • Perform integration testing of the test fixtures and systems.
  • Create/update/maintain documentation (schematics, BOM , assembly drawings) for test fixtures and systems and perform ECRs/ECOs to release them.
  • Perform functional testing on electronic sub-assemblies.
  • Create work instructions and test procedures.
  • Debug and troubleshoot test fixtures, test systems and electronic sub-assemblies/Unit Under Test (UUT).
  • Collect functional test data and perform statistical analysis.
  • Work with design team to review and provide input on test specifications and test requirements.
  • Provide support for test fixtures and systems located at remote sites and train test personals on test hardware, software and proper troubleshooting techniques.


Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled (in good standing) in 3rd year Electrical (Electronics) Engineering or Computer Engineering programs.
  • Experience: Relevant Summer Job, University or Personal Project Experience.
  • General electronics knowledge with ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge with Instrumentations such as Power supplies, Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Generators, Digital Input Output (DIO) Cards, Data Acquisition (DAQ) Cards, etc.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic mechanical skills with ability to use hand tools/power tools to assemble mechanical parts.
  • Soldering skills with ability to use soldering tools would be an asset.
  • PCB design skills with knowledge of PCB schematic capture and layout tools would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of NI LabVIEW and TestStand software would be an asset.
