Description

We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Controller/ Buyer to come join our team at PALL Harbourgate 

Position Objective: 

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a large, dynamic and faced paced global organisation. An opportunity has now become available for a Buyer to join the team here in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will join a team of 9 who are primarily located in Portsmouth, this team is responsible for buying of Internal and third party finished goods supporting a revenue of $300m.  This team manages 70,000 purchases orders per annum and works with 30+ internal vendors and 170 external vendors ensuring strong communication between supply chain and customer service.  This specific role will be more focused on external buying from third party vendors for small capital goods supporting Palls industrial sector.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Placing of Purchase orders on external vendors for items classified as “Small Capital goods.
  • Ensuring that all PO’s are placed according to current agreed pricing.
  • Engage with all key suppliers on a weekly basis to ensure no delivery slippages.
  • Work with Pall Transport team to ensure all parts are collected and shipped to customers on time
  • Manage life cycle of Purchase order from purchase-to-pay (GR/IR).
  • Monitor Supplier Performance and publish to key stakeholders, a monthly Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD) Report.
  • Work with Master data team to ensure all SAP data is correct.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities.
  • Assist other departments, such as procurement, engineering, and quality assurance, to identify or qualify new suppliers.
  • Carry out other tasks as per direction of Line Manager
  • Working processes to be in accordance with the Pall Quality Management System.
  • As required collaborate with Global Supply chain and strategic sourcing to carry out quarterly supplier reviews.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ideally degree educated or equivalent in either a Business discipline, or vocational specific qualification (e.g. CIPS Graduate Diploma)

  • Demonstrable buying experience able to influence positive outcomes at distance.

  • Experience of International buying.

  • Experience of SAP purchasing processes.

  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills being able to work effectively in a cross functional and multi-cultural environment.

  • Able to develop and implement order tracking and management processes with external suppliers.

  • A keen problem solver

  • Highly Self Motivated

  • Able to multi-task across one or more projects at any one time either individually or as part of a cross functional team
