Summary:  The Supply Chain Analyst will plan, release and manage production work orders and purchase orders for North American production plants.  This position will also be responsible for monitoring and supporting assigned value streams and planner codes including inventory and customer service levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Releases and manages production work orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban, production plan goals and related planning data.
  • Places and manages purchases orders in accordance with MRP, Kanban signals, production plan goals and related planning data.
  • Works closely with manufacturing and suppliers to prioritize, expedite and de-expedite work orders and purchase orders based on material availability, department resources, changing requirements and customer service requirements.
  • Support the assigned value streams including inventory turns improvement, backorder reduction and coordinating activities with other buyer/planners and departments.
  • Participates in the new product development process and supports supply chain planning activities at the new product team level.
  • Manage, monitor and update Kanbans for assigned value streams and production cells.
  • Reviews production plans and plant capacity, lead times, safety stocks and lot sizes to determine resource requirements and constraints.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams related to planning and process improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to the company goals at the raw, sub-assembly, WIP and finished good levels.
  • Have basic working knowledge and apply the principles of planning/pull system, MRP horizontal plan, AMU and projected balance calculations.
  • Have base understanding of lean manufacturing and JIT principles including DBS tools and how to apply them in the appropriate situation.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to the company goals at the raw, sub-assembly, WIP and finished good levels.
  • Develop short and long term unit and dollar inventory projections at the raw, sub-assembly, WIP and finished good levels.
  • Monitors key planning parameters such as safety stocks, buffer stocks and lot sizes.
  • Support special projects related to material planning, purchasing, system changes and inventory management.
  • Review the monthly Rolling Heijunka Plan (Production Plan) for specific product areas.

Job Requirements



  • Associates (2 year) Degree required; Bachelors preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in a supply chain analyst or similar role required
  • 1+ years’ experience in forecasting to include data mining, analysis, and reporting required
  • 2+  years experience in materials planning or production control in manufacturing or distribution facility required; medical device industry a plus
  • APICS Certification is a plus
  • Solid analytical and mathematical skills
  • Basic understanding of MRP
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with many levels and types of people
  • Good written, oral and presentation skills(communication)
  • Problem solving and good business decision making skills
  • Planning and organizational ability
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Occasional travel
