Description

The Supply Chain Analyst at ForteBio is responsible for various project aspects of the Materials department and is a highly analytical inventory and purchasing specialist with a proven record of leading projects and moving them to fruition.  Supply Chain Analyst works closely with internal Associates and outside suppliers. Through analysis and material management skills, this position supports the company in meeting short term and long term production goals and keeps the supply chain active throughout, managing various aspects of Direct & Indirect materials.  This role uses the ERP system and the Kanban calculator tool (in Microsoft Excel) to plan material flow resulting in inventory reduction. The Supply Chain Analyst has responsibility for the negotiation and management of select commodities for indirect and direct material, and for meeting Global Sourcing savings targets as well as serving as an escalation path for delivery, quality, and supplier management issues.  The ability to manage multiple complex projects and to develop the supply base to meet corporate and business unit objectives is critical.  The  ability to evaluate and select new suppliers along with Engineering, Quality and Regulatory groups and to select strategic partners worldwide is required.  

  • This position is based at ForteBio (Fremont, CA).  Domestic travel 10% to 30%, international travel may be required (Europe and/or Asia).  
  • Ownership of supplier non-conforming material (NCMRs), resulting with quality improvements from Supplier(s)
  • Manage the Kanban system with the use of Kanban calculator (includes resizing Kanban bins and adding/removing parts as needed.  Analyze parts to move to Kanban.
  • Negotiate and manage stocking agreements, pricing, payment terms, supplier lead times, and MOQ’s 
  • Cycle Count management and reconciliation of cycle counts with team members.  Develop process improvements for cycle counting accuracy.
  • Month-end reporting (e.g. cycle count results, month end shipments, etc.)
  • Lead various projects as required (e.g. lead materials representative for ISO, Materials Project Lead for NPI, etc.)
  • Overall strategy and relationship management in both direct and indirect categories. 
  • Responsible for securing savings in line with annual objectives. 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain experience
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with Great Plains ERP and ReQlogic requisitioning system a plus
  • Excellent negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, usage of lean tools, such as 5S, Standard Work, KANBAN, Policy Deployment, Value Stream Management, Visual Management.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to  use data to drive decisions
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Strong competency in driving for results, and ability to gain followership and enlist help from others.
  • Openness to coaching, with strong collaboration, communication and team work skills.
  • Ability to compile reports, analyze data, and present in meaningful manner.
  • Comfortable presenting/training in front of groups as well as via phone.
  • Strong attention to detail/accuracy, meeting deadlines, and organizational skills to manage multiple prioritizes.
  • Customer Service oriented – high sense of urgency
