    The position is required to be a team player in highly demanding Supply Chain Org, responsible for all aspects of Supplier Development function helping drive Supplier Development & Localization initiatives to support the Make in India program. Experience in handling multiple commodities namely – Plastics, Mechanical, Chemicals and Automation Equipments.

    • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on selection criteria.
    • Audit and perform assessments (scorecard) at supplier sites.
    • Establish, track, and trend key supplier performance metrics - OEE and SPC.
    • Use data analytics to make recommendations and drive improvement actions (Quality, Cost, Productivity)
    • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and drive supplier improvement projects.
    • Review, approve, and release engineering change orders to suppliers.
    • Develop and execute qualification plans with engineering and manufacturing teams.
    • Review, initiate, and represent supplier recommended design changes to internal engineering teams.
    • Understand and represent supplier capabilities to engineering teams during program design changes / development.
    • Drive Cepheid requirements at supplier, while representing supplier capabilities within Cepheid
    • Review, drive corrective actions, and approve supplier issues (No- conforming material, corrective action requests, etc.)
    • Provide input and update internal supplier selection and qualification processes.
    • Responsible for consistent predictable supplier production throughput
    • Responsible for reviewing tool health, spares, and making recommendations on required repairs/refurbishment.
    • Work with suppliers to develop quality improvement plans
    • Participate in the delivery of a robust Part Establishment process
    • Contribute to improvements to Supplier Quality processes
    • Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements
    • Maintain the robustness of product builds following new product introductions to ensure continuity and improvement in supplier capability
    • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
    • Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
    • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
    • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

    • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
    • Proactively request for trainings that are required to improve the existing job performance or as a part of development plan.

Job Requirements



    Education and Experience (in years):
    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
    • 5 + years total experience with min 2 years in Med-tech/IVD industry

    Knowledge and skills:
    • Experience working with key commodities – Chemicals/Reagents, Plastics, Automation Equipment and Packaging materials.
    • Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and quality systems
    • Knowledge of quality and business systems
    • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
    • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
    • Knowledge of ISO13485 , TS16949 , ISO45001/OHSAS18001
    • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
    • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment
    • Planning and prioritizing tasks
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong / Concise verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experienced and comfortable with executive level presentations (.ppt / “elevator pitches”).
    • Demonstrated experience working directly with internal functional organizations and suppliers on a regular basis.
    • Demonstrated experience with manufacturing processes and controls related to area of expertise.
    • High degree of professional acumen.
    • Demonstrated experience with high volume manufacturing processes
    • Demonstrated experience with tooling development
    • Demonstrated experience with equipment selection, operation, and processing
    • Understanding of processing limitations and design characteristics

    Physical requirements/abilities:
    • Must be able to work at manufacturing sites (brown field & green field sites)
    • Domestic and International travel as required

    • Added advantage to have knowledge of local languages – Tamil & Kannada

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Supplier Development in Med-tech Industry
    • Knowledge Local IVD industry & CDSCO processes.
    • Valid US Visa
    • SAP experience
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point, Agile, and SAP
    • Ability to read and interpret product Bill of Materials (BOM's) and Engineering Drawings
    • Must be a self-starter and be able to operate independent of day to day supervision
    • Self-starter with the ability to adapt, critical thinking skills, and problem solve under pressure
