Position Overview: 

upstream and downstream value-added flow of materials as they relate to Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Innovation and Cost.  In relation to cost, create material savings that will generate improved margins for the business and create funding that can be reinvested to fuel growth initiatives. Initiate identify and support projects that generate savings in the form of MCP (Material Cost Productivity), which is a combination of PPV (Purchase Price Variance) and VAVE (Value Analysis Value Engineering).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following.

Responsible for multiple procurement activities while balancing both site and corporate objectives such as:

  • Responsible for the generation and sustainment of site PPV with assistance to VAVE either through individual, team or cross-functional involvement.
  • Utilizes Danaher Business System (DBS) reporting tools to extrapolate, analyze and interpret data to help assess and deliver results for PPV.
  • Participates and leads workshops for PPV that reviews spending and manufacturing activities to identify ways to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Supplier management through a supplier qualification process, which may include site visits and audits, that incorporates accepted standards of practice, based on QDIC, to help consider, evaluate and qualify potential supplier candidates.  
  • Supports buying best by assuring best price and quality for all direct material items.
  • Stays current on commodity trends in the marketplace.
  • Ensures that suppliers are adhering to developed routing guides and/or to established corporate guidance.
  • Responsible for working with Cross-Functional teams to help drive and deliver innovation and new products as assigned, by assisting in implementing strategic cost techniques to minimize upstream exploratory costs and the subsequent costs that will be associated with product sustainment post launch.
  • Travel as required up to 10%.

Job Requirements



• 2 years general business experience. 
• 2-3 years purchasing experience.
• High school diploma

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Ability to efficiently and effectively multi-task.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with Oracle is highly desired.
• Ability to learn and utilize computer for standard business applications including work processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
