X-Rite/Pantone, a Danaher company, recognized nationally as one of the “Best & Brightest Companies to Work For” is seeking a Strategic Buyer - Indirect to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

This role will develop and execute indirect procurement strategies by investigating, analyzing and acting on savings opportunities for the organization. You’ll work as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders in the organization to provide insight and critical thinking for both short and longer term indirect spend initiatives. 

Our Strategic Buyer - Indirect will drive cross-functional engagement and adherence to our indirect purchasing guidelines. You'll have the opportunity to lead recurring stakeholder meetings with robust visual management within core departments to drive visibility, accountability and real-time problem solving.

We’re looking for a proactive problem solver who has a passion for discovering cost savings and is relentless in their pursuit to make an impact on the organization. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manage domestic and global indirect purchasing activities in support of non-production material requirements.

2. Identify cost savings and process improvement projects for global locations and teams. 

3. Drive in- year cost savings objectives, create a funnel of future year cost savings opportunities.

4. Create strategies to maximize our impact on behavior, processes and tools as it relates to indirect procurement and spend management

5. Act as our liaison to the Danaher Corporate Indirect Procurement team for best-practice sharing, bench marking and strategy development.

6. Support and lead cost savings kaizens and other continuous improvement activities.

7. Lead the reporting and management of global cost savings metrics and communicate to our leadership team.
8. Work closely on external relationships with preferred suppliers in order to drive safety, quality, delivery, inventory and cost.
9. Champion, lead and direct high level indirect purchase projects and initiatives.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline preferred (or equivalent work experience)

2. Five or more years’ experience in procurement, indirect purchasing preferred.

3. Strong skills in organization, attention to detail, negotiation, project execution, presentation, and data analysis.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

5. Strong PC skills, particularly Excel.
