We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Staff Software Application Developer to join our team and become an integral part of Research & Development. The candidate will contribute to the success of our clinical laboratory customers by developing our current and next generation of laboratory software systems.

The Software Application Developer will report to the Manager, Software & Firmware Engineering and will be responsible for translating high-level requirements into software applications that align with the overall system. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Optimization of existing applications including but not limited to: defining new feature specifications from requirements, using document application logic using standards in medical environment, and stabilizing and introducing new error recovery procedures.

• Develops new applications which involves introducing Microservices, defining application and transaction logic for a distributed system, and GUI development using prototypes.

• Prepares appropriate documentation as required by internal product development processes and regulatory agencies such as FDA and ISO.

• Applies extensive knowledge of technical principals, theories, and concepts in Software Development field.

• Acts as a key collaborator with system engineering and software verification teams. 

Job Requirements


• Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the field of medical engineering
• 5-6 years of experience in automation or laboratory device environment
• Self-driven and self-motivated Software-Architect having experience in minimum three areas in the following fields:
• Application Development in Windows environment.• Profound .NET and WPF knowledge.• Defining and implementation of application logic in a distributed environment.• Minimum 3 years of experience in applying messaging protocols.• Modeling using tools (UML or similar).• Go live experience / commissioning of 1 -2 products on customer side.• Web technologies (Angular2, html5) as supplement.
• Experience in Medical Device industry is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
• Know How of TFS and Visual Studio toolbox is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
• Proficient in English language; German is preferred.
