Description

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Staff Software Algorithm Developer to join our team and become an integral part of Research & Development. The candidate will contribute to the success of our clinical laboratory customers by developing our current and next generation of laboratory software systems.

The Software Algorithm Developer will report to the Manager, Software & Firmware Engineering and will be responsible for translating high-level requirements into software algorithms that align with the overall system.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Optimization of existing algorithms towards throughput and delivery time, optimization of conveyor workload, and improving error handling, automated recovery, and solution strategies for difficult situations.
  • Developing new algorithms by testing and applying new simulation strategies such as Monte Carlo simulations or similar. 
  • Applies extensive state of the art knowledge of technical principals, theories, and concepts in optimization .
  • Acts as a key collaborator with System Engineering and software verification teams.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 9+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience, or Doctoral degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the field of medical engineering.
  • 5-6 years of experience in automation or laboratory device environment.
  • Self-driven and self-motivated expert  having experience in minimum three areas in the following fields:
    • Algorithm development for routing optimization.
    • Go live experience / commissioning of 1 -2 products on customer side.
    • Simulation of transport mechanism (routing, in general “traffic” on systems).
    • MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or similar.
  • Know How of TFS and Visual Studio toolbox is essential.
  • Experience in the Medical device industry is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills.
  • Proficient in English language; German is preferred.
