Job Description

Job Title:               Staff Application Scientist (Temp)     


Reports to:            Senior Manager Technical Applications Support


Career Band          Staff Applications Scientist






  • Providing technical support including problem solving and delivering solutions

  • Communicates support activities to line management and business units.

  • Ability to effectively influence, relate to and communicate with all levels within the organization providing clear open communication between the team, global operations, the field and site.

  • Actively manage escalations liaising with field and product specialists to resolve escalations and customer issues.

  • Use technical product knowledge to solve complex problems and to develop and provide solutions in a timely manner

  • Develop and deliver technical training to support the field

  • Encourages team-work within own function as well as involvement where appropriate in cross-functional problem solving initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance is maintained and its effectiveness monitored

  • Core team member for Service and Support for complex projects always ensuring delivery of assigned tasks on time.

  • Provision of excellent internal and external (where appropriate) customer satisfaction continually striving to improve support activities

  • Communication of problem resolutions and/or investigation outcomes to all appropriate personnel.

  • Drives efficiencies by ensuring appropriate countermeasure implementation  

Job Requirements



Education & Experience


•       Bachelor’s degree in field with 9+ years’ experience or Masters with 7 year + or PhD with 4year + level in a Science related discipline Biochemistry or Clinical Chemistry preferred

•        Must have previous experience working in a Technical Support/ Research or Clinical  environment

•     Must have excellent communication skills and ability to team work within the group of specialists as well as in cross-functional groups.

•       Excellent analytical and critical thinking capabilities

•       Is a team player, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practice
