Description


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

⦁ Serve as database administrator for Sequel database for month end close

⦁ Responsible for maintaining/improving functionality of database

⦁ Responsible for monthly close cycle

⦁ Provide training to divisions

⦁ Upload ADP payroll files

⦁ Responsible for important portion of General Ledger Corporate entity reporting

⦁ Involved in monthly reconciliation process

⦁ Internal financial analysis with HFM tool



MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
  • Ability to understand and use accounting applications and systems.
  • Strong data collection, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Schedules change frequently - must be able to anticipate and react quickly.
  • Independence - must require little direction and supervision. Must be able to function effectively when supervisor is absent from office.
  • Must be absolutely reliable.  Deliver on commitments.
  • Must be able to handle confidential data in a discreet manner.   Position deals with ADP payroll data.
  • Must be a fast learner. This is a complex organization, and the incumbent must quickly understand the business and the players. Learns from mistakes and does not repeat them.
  • Must present a professional demeanor at all times, whether dealing with internal Danaher associates or external contacts. 
  • Will need to have a high degree of sensitivity and skill in dealing with others. Must be confident and assertive in a positive way. Must be able to anticipate problems. 
  • Ability and willingness to take on additional responsibilities with goal to grow to a Senior Accountant position in future.

RELATIONSHIPS:
  • Position reports to the Accounting Manager.
  • Position has close working relationship with the Finance Team.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Minimum of a BS in Accounting.
Experience in HFM based reporting environments preferred
Background in public accounting or large multi divisional company preferred but not required.
Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software.
Capability to handle multiple projects.
Proficiency in time and project management; manage multiple priorities with speed and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
