Main responsibilities and key activities:

o    Responsible for the daily user-support, including:

o    Work on Disk, Memory, Processor incidents and Patch the Servers.

o    Deploy Firmware updates, Service Packs and Application updates (like SEP 12 to 14). Configure RAID, Build Windows/Linux Physical/Virtual Servers, deploy necessary applications, harden the servers based on the security policies. Coordinate with Network teams. Resolve Backup issues at OS/NIC level.

o    Experience in providing Windows/Unix/Linux/Storage/Networking technical support to enterprise customers.

o    Be as a mentor for L2 and L1 teams.

o    Interact with customer/internal team on various server performance reports. Suggest upgrades. Work on Break fix incidents. Resolve escalations. Be on-call to login during out of office hours.

o    Network technologies including Routing, Switching, Wireless, Security and Network management

o    Good knowledge on switching (OSI Layer2, Sub-netting, VLAN, STP etc.) and routing (Layer3, IP, Static and Dynamic routing etc.) technology.

o    Working knowledge and understanding of access and core layer switch

o    These engineers support technologies, such as Active Directory, DFS, Terminal Servers, Hyper V, Internet Information Server, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), and file server migrations.

o    Engineers should be familiar with Cloud Solutions, virtualization software, such as VMware and Hyper-V, scripting with PowerShell and Ansible, and Citrix XenDesktop and VDI Solutions.

o    Engineers need to have a thorough understanding of patching tools and security vulnerability scanning. They should be able to interpret information in generated reports and come up with strategies to get rid of unearthed vulnerabilities. They should create project plans for all system deployment and modifications and document them.

o    Engineers have to take care of server environment, which includes installing new servers, taking out servers, and fixing issues with existing servers.

o    Develop and maintain windows platform for the server as a host, connected with multiple clients (other computers)

o    Test and certify new versions of windows operating system providing better solution and integration for the application like VMware and SharePoint.

o    Maintain and support multi-site windows environment along with hardware and software configuration.

o    Management of server migration when required by the client.

o    Understanding of LAN/WAN/VLAN, TCP/IP, UDP

o    Test of new equipment.

o    Research and identify solutions to software and hardware issues

o    Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, including account setup and network configuration

o    Refer to internal database or external resources to provide accurate tech solutions

o    Prioritize and manage several open issues at one time

o    Prepare accurate and timely reports

o    Document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals

o    Maintain jovial relationships with clients

o    Participate in the setup and support of servers, communication infrastructure and network devices.

o    Assist and advice users in finding the best suitable solution for their needs. This relates to choose of systems, best working practices, integration of systems, etc.

o    Participate in the order fulfilment process for new IT systems, i.e. typically workstations.

o    Participate in making and updating documentation regarding IT procedures, frequently asked questions, knowledge base content, systems setup and systems maintenance.

o    Train and supervise end-users in the use of globally used applications / IT systems. “Globally” indicates across regions and departments.


Job Requirements



Qualifications

Qualifications and professional knowledge:

o    Sr. Server Engineers must have at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline.

o    They need to be good team players and must have expertise in automation solutions and diagnostics and troubleshooting.            

o    Engineers must have more than 5 years of experience in designing and supporting server.

o    Experience in configuring network and SAN in a blade server environment, would be a plus. Engineers must be adept at antivirus administration and should efficiently administer DNS and DHCP.

o    Worked with a variety of IT support systems

o    Technology awareness of server technology (Citrix, VM Ware) is considered a plus

o    Experience working in an international and complex company

o    Proficient in English

o    Excellent customer orientation skills
