Description

The Sr. Quality Systems Engineer will ensure product quality and customer satisfaction through the integration of quality systems as they relate to existing and new products, supplied materials, and test methods. With minimal supervision, they will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing ISO and cGMP compliance elements and metrics to enhance the Quality Management System.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and improve the Internal Audit Program: Develop and track internal audit schedule, conduct monthly audit meetings, manage Internal Audit metrics and CI, report on Internal Audit metrics (5%)
  • Lead customer and third-party audits
  • Develop prep plan for site audits
  • Respond to audit findings and track completion of CA (5%)
  • Responsible for Global Media Supplier Quality Management
  • Maintain supplier performance metrics and report on metrics
  • Support supplier qualification activities
  • Develop and manage Supplier Audit Schedule and conduct supplier audits as required (30%)
  • Provide QA technical support on customer complaints, FMEAs
  • Review and approve document updates, label changes, and other quality records as required (60%)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5-7 years’ experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing
  • Must be a Green Belt (Black Belt preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001 Standards
  • Training and/or experience with process engineering and manufacturing management
  • Knowledge and experience with Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma
  • Experience with SPC and quality statistical methods and tools
  • Experience in Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping for process improvements
  • Detail- and results-oriented

Position Competencies:

  • Uses and interprets statistical data for making business decisions and improving quality system
  • Explains, describes, or shares information clearly; persuasive in maintaining audience attention
  • Expert ability to produce effective, concise written communications about technical subjects
  • Strong team-building skills; can work across functions
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle multiple moderately complex projects simultaneously
  • Must demonstrate and project integrity to employees and customers and uphold the company’s highest ethical standards
  • Effective interpersonal skills at any level within and outside of the organization

Other Requirements:

  • ASQ Certified Auditor
  • Identify critical inputs and outputs and samples rates for SPC
  • Generates and/or leads Risk Assessments
  • Understanding and experience in the application of FMECA and DOE
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively mine data to mitigate risk and minimize resource requirements in the execution of change control
  • Knowledge of designing and implementing QMS structure to processes
  • Monitors effectiveness and performs training on QMS elements
  • Knowledge of ISO, FDA, cGMP’s, and CFR requirements preferred
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
