Job Description Summary

The primary role of the Senior Global Marketing Communications Manager is to drive global revenue growth via lead generation and ecommerce channels in assigned vertical market(s) in alignment with Hach’s commercial plan. This dynamic, resourceful, and disciplined individual will execute fully integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns with an emphasis on utilizing digital channels and strategies. This includes preparing and maintaining omni-channel touchpoints along every stage of the customer’s journey using automated marketing tools. Through daily analysis of results data, the successful candidate will make effective, data-validated decisions while defining marketing strategies and concepting tactics, and then orchestrating those tactical executions with both in-house and external creative partners. This highly visible role allows collaboration with all areas of the organization, from a close partnership with Vertical Market Managers to relationships with product managers, sales, customer service and technical support.

Purpose of Position

The primary role of this position is to drive global revenue growth in assigned vertical market(s) in alignment with Hach’s commercial plan. Reporting to the Global Manager of Marketing Campaigns within the Marketing Communications team, the Global Campaign Manager actively implements marketing strategies and campaigns aligned with the marketing department’s growth model objectives, which are to:

  • Spark customer exploration of new or improved water quality analysis solutions

  • Support customers through every stage of their buying journey

  • Give voice to Hach’s products and services through omni-channel delivery of consistent messaging

  • Utilize optimized marketing approaches (e.g. digital, marketing automation, data analytics) to drive accelerated growth

Essential Functions

  • Drive revenue in assigned global vertical market(s) through both lead generation and ecommerce channels

  • Closely partner with Vertical Market Manager(s) to:

    • Establish vertical market objectives and prioritize them based on effort to impact analysis

    • Determine vertical campaign topics and timing

    • Define strategic and tactical approaches for those campaigns

    • Estimate expected fiscal impact of those efforts

  • Work with both Creative and System Support teams to execute campaign strategies and tactics including providing “voice of the customer,” guiding messaging, and ensuring a high-level of content quality for all tactics

  • Engage in continual results tracking all the way through the marketing and sales funnel – from early engagement indicators (e.g. Clicks) and top-of-the-sales-funnel indicators (e.g. lead creation, conversion rate) to sale.

    • Based on careful review of results, alter strategies and tactics for optimal return on effort and investment

  • Prepare and maintain omni-channel touchpoints all along the customer’s journey, from sparking initial interest and providing high-quality solution education content all the way through post-purchase support.

    • This includes utilizing state-of-the-art marketing optimization approaches such as search engine marketing and marketing automation (e.g. trigger-based emails, web personalization, account-based marketing)

  • Carefully manage budget and expenditures, providing monthly reports to finance and adjusting spend in alignment with organizational financial needs

  • Partner with other stakeholders – Product Managers, Sales, Customer and Technical Support – to ensure an exceptional customer experience throughout the entire customer journey and unified messaging across all channels

  • Provide visibility to your marketing plans, executions and results to the entire organization, maintaining complete transparency for continual stakeholder alignment

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree and 6-8 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, public relations, and/or advertising, or an equivalent combination of education/experience, preferred.

  • Marketing experience in a B2B environment, or advertising agency account service experience with B2B clients, preferred. Digital marketing experience strongly desired.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth through both leads generation and ecommerce channels

  • Proven experience planning and executing fully integrated, multi-channel global campaigns, including:

    • Establishing objectives, defining strategies and concepting tactics. Orchestrating tactical executions with creative partners

    • Utilizing digital channels and strategies, including proven experience with marketing automation tools (e.g. Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua, HubSpot, etc). Experience working in, Google Adwords and Analytics preferred, as well as experience working in a content management system (e.g. Kapost).

    • Daily management and analysis of results data to make effective, data-validated decisions. Experience with business intelligence software (e.g. Domo) preferred.

    • Integrating marketing activity with sales and tracking early engagement activity all the way through the sales funnel to revenue

      • Managing the leads process, including leads qualification and conversion rate monitoring

  • Experience launching new products required. Industrial product experience preferred.

  • Must be able to think critically on messaging and direct a creative team in the execution of that messaging. Must be able to proof and edit copy, as well as effectively review designs and layouts.

  • Budget management experience, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, accruing expenses, processing invoices and negotiating vendor contracts

  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Some global travel required.
