Danaher Digital is our digital innovation and acceleration center where we’re bringing together the leading strategic product and business leaders, technologists and data scientists for the common purpose of accelerating development and commercialization of disruptive and transformative digital solutions into the marketplace.

We accelerate Danaher’s digital innovation journey by partnering with Danaher operating companies (OpCos) to monetize and commercialize the potential of emerging digital trends.

Located in Silicon Valley, the heart of global innovation, Danaher Digital is ideally situated to capitalize on the digital mega trends transforming our world, including IoT, Data, AI, cloud, mobile, Augmented Reality (AR), Blockchain and other Digital frontiers. In this role, you will report to the VP & GM of Danaher Digital who is responsible for development and oversight of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Edge team in Danaher Digital. While developing the strategy, vision and plans for IoT and Edge initiatives, you will lead a team of highly skilled Agile Product Owners/Product Managers, Architects, IoT/Edge Engineering and DevOps to inspire, innovate, develop and accelerate IoT/Edge solutions for Danaher OpCos.

You should be comfortable to simultaneously be part strategist, part adviser, part evangelist, part product manager, and part engineering manager for IoT and Edge initiatives. You will provide business, product management & engineering leadership and define the go forward IoT and Edge initiatives.
  • As a leader, you must have international operating skills, management and leadership experiences to bring together senior OpCo leadership, influence behavior and inspire change. 
  • You have proven to be technologically curious and business savvy, and can connect and understand multiple technical disciplines and market segments across Danaher OpCos. 
  • You should have the business acumen to clearly define and articulate the financial and organizational implications of these advancements to guide and prepare our OpCos.
  • Furthermore, must have a diverse background and a demonstrable track-record of successfully building and managing innovative IoT solutions for internal or external organizations.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspire and shape IoT and Edge vision as a critical part of our growth strategy, and digital innovation and transformation
  • Build, develop, inspire and lead a team of highly skilled associates in different functional roles in India and US
  • Conceptualize, evangelize, plan and execute a comprehensive IoT and Edge strategy to align OpCos with accelerated development and commercialization of IoT solutions
  • Develop and implement structured product management, engineering and agile development processes across teams distributed in US and India locations
  • Ensure alignment and buy-in from key stakeholders within other Danaher Digital teams (e.g. Data & Analytics teams) and Danaher OpCos
  • Develop standard approach to inspire, educate and enable our Operating Companies to build IoT solutions for the future 
  • Demonstrate leadership to leaders and associates; create a community of associates with high engagement and high performance 
  • Serve as a thought leader in IoT and Edge domains, understand the competitive landscape and maintain active engagement in the external community of vendors, universities and partners. 
  • Ensure compliance and ethical behavior without exception

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and more specifically, it is anticipated that the ideal candidate will possess the following experiences and skills: 

Business Acumen 
  • Strong IoT, Edge and related technology foundation with solid understanding of disruptive technologies and developing strategies to commercialize IoT, cloud or SaaS/PaaS solutions
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with years of experience leading in high growth companies that leverage IoT, cloud or SaaS/PaaS solutions solutions (preferably in industrial, life sciences, healthcare or manufacturing markets). The person will anticipate and proactively address roadblocks to minimize impact on the business. The successful candidate will have the ability to define issues clearly, despite ambiguity and you will take a holistic perspective when making decisions
  • Successful years of exceptional program management, leadership and team building experiences and skills. A hands-on strategic builder/leader who has demonstrated the capability to think strategically, growing a business and creating value in the process for various companies
  • Designed, implemented and scaled end-to-end cloud-based and hybrid (on-premise) cloud or SaaS/PaaS solutions (preferably IoT and Edge solutions)

  • Prior experience communicating the vision and strategy in bold, persuasive terms gaining buy-in within the organization and from external stakeholders. You will be accessible, yet an independent thinker, embracing and synthesizing disparate views. S/he has broad knowledge and is frequently described as “visionary”. You should be comfortable managing “what if” scenarios and manages a high degree of ambiguity well
  • A track record of innovation and the ability to move organizations strategically to take advantage of changing market opportunities/challenges and to anticipate and react to competitive pressures
  • Lead emerging product management research, strategic positioning to meet evolving business needs, map IoT, cloud or SaaS/PaaS solution requirements and feature road maps and coordinate detailed planning to evolve the product management suite 
  • Experience anticipating industry and product trends, capability prioritization and trade offs, balancing business needs versus technical and resource constraints 
Executing for Results 
  • Distinct track record of operational excellence, setting and achieving aggressive short and long-term goals in high-urgency, high-growth environments. You must have the ability to drive change while maintaining operating effectiveness.
  • Data-driven decision making; however, you will have the experience and skill-set to leverage intuition to make decisions in uncertain times or ambiguous situations. 
  • Creativity in problem identification and resolution and a relentless drive to carry out company goals and objectives. A can-do attitude is a must. 
  • Strong analytical thinker who is process-oriented, obsessed with continuous improvement
  • Define, communicate and analyze success metrics for IoT and Edge, or cloud or SaaS/PaaS strategies and programs
Leading Teams 
  • Successful track record to attract, retain, develop, and mentor world class IoT and Edge specialists and product management talent. You will create a culture of openness and collaboration that fosters innovation. You must be able to inspire others to achieve results and possess exceptional communication skills to inform and influence team members. Distinct track record of developing loyalty and following among direct reports
  • Experience rapidly building and growing large product management and engineering teams in India and in US
  • Demonstrated acumen in organizational change and design
Building Relationships and Using Influence 
  • You must be a keen ability to influence others, with a track record of shaping stakeholder opinions. As a leader, you will have evangelized new concepts and products, and understands how to approach communication from a strategic and business leadership perspective. 
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability and personal style to inspire confidence and work successfully with varied audiences (commercial leaders, sales, marketing, services, R&D, engineering)
