Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. Our water quality business provides products under a variety of brands, including HACH, ChemTreat, and Trojan Technologies.


Our organization is seeking a Sr. Director of Global Procurement based in Loveland, Colorado to oversee over $350 million of direct production material and indirect material spend with a focus on quality, delivery, cost & inventory (QDCI) and a continuous improvement mindset. This position is broad in scope with a high impact on the organization and the customers we serve. You will be responsible for a global team with varied strengths based in North America, Europe and Asia.

  • Leadership and Talent Management: Serve as a key member of the Operations leadership team that set’s the company’s strategic direction by demonstrating enterprise-wide leadership.
  • Able to work well in a cross-functional, matrixed organization
  • Supporting the Purchasing and Sourcing professionals through the globe
  • Enlist all associates in the commitment to excellence by communicating appropriate business information in a timely manner
  • Lead a culture of stretch goal attainment utilizing process improvement tools
  • Coach, train and counsels associates to ensure performance standards and to elevate or improve performance.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

  • Develop commodity strategies to support short and long-term QDCI goals
  • Negotiate with and establish supply agreements with global suppliers for QDCI improvements
  • Research and provide market analysis on pricing trends that could affect costs
  • Coordinate with Corporate Purchasing and Commodity Team Leaders to capitalize on the economies of scale provided by our relationship
  • Conduct market analysis to assess environmental conditions to resolve a “buy best” approach evaluating value beyond price (e.g. Innovation, Growth, Life-Cycle Costs, Working Capital, and Capex) while ensuring material continuity and minimizing supply risk management objectives
  • Help create and execute strategy by identifying their area's breakthroughs and creating plans that are resourced and doable
  • Able to flex from being hands-on and tactical to seeing the big picture and thinking strategically

  • Develop tools, processes, metrics and training to implement improvements in QDCI at multiple locations across the Globe
  • Ensure all associates are knowledgeable of, and follow code of conduct, all work policies and Quality system requirements
  • Ensure use of standard methodologies and tools across business in achieving performance expectations
  • Conducts business reviews with key suppliers to discuss performance, development and growth opportunities

Job Requirements

  • BS Degree
  • Purchasing and/or Supply Chain professional with 10 or more years of experience
  • Understanding of LCR Strategy a must
  • Standout colleague with strong customer orientation and ability to work in multinational and multicultural environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in leadership, negotiation, and public presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates Drive for Results in personal, team and organizational performance
  • Models humility, openness and integrity in all interactions with internal and external partners
  • Manufacturing operations experience a must
  • Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma experience
