Description

Seeking a motivated, self-starter who is ready to roll-up their sleeves to analyze results, troubleshoot problems, and identify areas of cost savings for company. The Sr. Accountant will perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs, monitor, analyze and report on inventory valuation, production and various other costs, and perform productivity analysis, and be able to summarize and report information to management to support decision making. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Participate in monthly cost accounting close process, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX documentation, and financial statement review.
  • Analyze and reconcile monthly sub-ledger activity related to inventory. 
  • Maintain and update standard cost modules. 
  • Ensure timely process of product cost roll-up.
  • Provide analysis and reporting for Purchase Price Variance (PPV) and manufacturing variances.
  • Perform capital spend plans and capital appropriation request process (CAR).
  • Lead budgeting process for manufacturing.
  • Provide strategy for setting intra-company transfer pricing.
  • Perform trending, variance and ad hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP & A), manufacturing and operations to resolve issues on cost and inventory. 
  • Identify and implement continuous cost improvement opportunities.
  • Compile product costs including direct labor, raw materials, and overhead on a semi-annual basis and sign off on final costing.
  • Assist the accounting team with GL and other ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory process.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 3 Years Accounting or Finance Experience.
  • Advance Excel Skills to include Mested formulas and Pivot Tables

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 years of Cost Accounting experience
  • 3 years Inventory accounting experience
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL ALSO POSSESS:
  • Strong attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task, work with flexibility, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and systems.
  • Competency with U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced computer skills with MSOffice suite required.  
  • Syteline or other common ERPs knowledge a plus
