Description

The Sr Process Engineer is responsible for engineering of the production process (es) to which they are assigned. Tasks include process sustaining/monitoring of FPY/OTD, troubleshooting utilizing problem solving process, process improvement, development and implementation of SOPs for the production environment.  In addition, the Sr. Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating projects.  He/she performs Risk assessment (PFMEA) on new products and processes or any change to the existing. The successful incumbent works closely with the CAM/process development and other disciplines in the product development teams worldwide to meet development goals, product quality, and cost objectives. 

Other responsibilities include:
  • Perform risk analysis and process validations on new products and processes. 
  • Creates validation reports, generate technical data sheet and resolves technical engineering issues related to manufacturing
  • Support new product launches, defining manufacturing detailed execution sequences (CAM, CNC, additive manufacturing, Tooling, Pressing, Sintering, etc.) based on PFMEA, product and process requirements.
  • Document and carry out shop floor implementation tests for new manufacturing processes, based on PFMEA, documenting results in technical reports.
  • Ensures stable and efficient production of dental prosthetic products utilizing different machine types, technologies, and processes.
  • Perform project engineering tasks including implementation and validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) of new production processes and workflows.
  • Create and train production employees on standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
  • Provide technical support for quality or manufacturing issues; helps colleagues as necessary for any technical engineering questions.
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement activities (“Lean 6-Sigma”).
  • Demonstrate “can-do” approach and dedication to solve equipment and process issues to keep the machines and production lines in full service.
  • Acts as a resource to Global Process Owners (GPOs), colleague engineers and management.
  • Travel to off-site facilities to participate in NBC programs for support or training activities.   

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in  Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing; medical device or other regulated industry preferred
  • 5+ years work experience with CAD/CAM in machining with 5-axis CNC milling machines and knowledge of manufacturing processes utilized in the machining of small components
  • 2+ years experience in Lean and 6-Sigma Methodology; preferably Green Belt Certified
  • 1+ years experience with Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • 1+ years experience in the execution of equipment qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) and process validations.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of SAP software or similar ERP system is preferred.
  • Efficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point).
  • Practical work experience being a problem solver and performing root cause analysis (PSP).
  • Relevant work experience in processing of ceramic and titanium materials process development.
  • Strong communication, writing, analytical and interpersonal skills; being able to explain complex information and works to build consensus.
  • Working knowledge of statistical tools/software or DBS tools.
  • Demonstrate effective planning, time management and organizational skills.
