Description

Overview

The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is an integral position in the Hach R&D team. The SQA Engineer will be part of a fast-paced team, working in a highly collaborative environment across software development and the business unit that will drive growth and innovation within the software and cloud computing space. The SQA Engineer will engage with a scrum team in an agile environment with the core responsibility of developing high quality innovative solutions. This role requires a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensures consistency and quality across multiple web applications in a continuous deployment environment
  • Develops, documents and maintains test cases, test suites and test plans using commercial tools
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through familiarity of customer domain and developing test cases which are representative of actual customer use
  • Engages with a scrum team in an agile environment
  • Works collaboratively with software development and the business unit during all stages of projects
  • Communicates across scrum teams to ensure quality of the entire software system
  • Reviews and analyzes system specifications
  • Perform and document risk analysis
  • Report bugs and errors to the development team and assists troubleshooting
  • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing
  • Conduct post-release testing
  • Own the quality aspect within the scrum team and maintain the key quality metrics

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related field or 5 years of prior related experience
  • Experience developing and documenting test cases and test plans from specifications
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework and scrum processes
  • Experience with test management tools such as SmartBear QAComplete
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Testing experience with mobile applications and devices is desirable
