Description

Position Summary and Overview 
The Software Engineer, Web Services will design, develop, and unit test web based applications, utilizing web services, while incorporating microservices approaches.  Work with product managers and other developers to design and deliver needed functionality, to support image viewing, management, and analysis applications.

Major Responsibilities

 
Work closely with Product Managers and other Software engineers developing web applications, and image viewing and analysis applications.
Work with Product Management to assist with requirement specifications.
Develop and document software specifications from external requirements.
Collaborate, present and defend design with broader development team.
Develop software in accordance with Leica development procedures.
Unit test software prior to turnover to QA engineers.
Work closely with engineers developing image viewing and analysis applications.
Provide third-level support for customer installations.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience/Education

  • Minimum 2 years C# Windows development. 
  • Experience with database applications, including ORM, DBMS, and MS SQL Server
  • Experience developing multi-threaded applications.
  • Experience in estimating requirements and writing design documents.
  • Experience with client/server application architecture.
  • Experience deploying and supporting software applications.
Desired Skills/Experience 
  • Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile team environment.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and other Microsoft development tools.
  • Familiarity with distributed databases.
  • Familiarity with COM.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging applications, such as in Pathology or Radiology.
  • Experience with TCP/IP socket programming.
