Description

Are you interested in leading-edge technology? Do you like Research and Development (R&D)? As a Software Engineer II, you will work with a team of engineers to develop new medical devices which help humanity through revolutionary medical device breakthroughs.


Our R&D team is responsible for products that include UIs, databases, and machine control software, which requires you to know and/or learn a lot of different technologies and concepts. We are using mostly Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio 2017, C#, UWP, SQL server, Windows 10) to develop this software. Here, product development involves working together with cross-functional teams from sites around the world.


Key Responsibilities


  • Work in an obeya environment to design, develop, integrate, unit test, and document software applications using object oriented principles and Agile methodologies
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Systems Engineering, Regulatory, Verification, Quality, Program Management, Field Services, Scientists, etc. in a highly regulated industry
  • Conduct and participate in peer design, code, and document reviews

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 0+ years of experience
  • Experience with the following: Key concepts in software design, development, and testing (data structures, structured code, unit testing, etc.), C#, and Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles
  • Good communication skills


Preferred Qualifications


  • Ability to communicate software and system design: Unified Modeling Language (UML), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), class diagrams, etc. 
  • User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) design and implementation 
  • Understanding of Localization and Internationalization 
  • Modern software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum 
  • Experience with GitHUB, Python, C++, JavaScript and/or Java 
  • Experience working in a multi-site and multi-cultural environment 
  • Experience in medical device design and development
