Description

Develops and implements testing, sampling and inspection procedures on raw materials, equipment, in-process materials, and/or finished products to ensure that product specifications and company and regulatory requirements are met. Investigates and troubleshoots functionality and performance problems. Recommends corrective action when appropriate. May monitor and execute on-site equipment and tools calibration.
Additional duties include:
• Operate hematology medical devices in order complete Assay Value Assignments and Verifications of hematology controls/calibrator.
• Perform whole blood manual reference methods by preparing dilutions and utilizing particle counters, spectrophotometers, microscopes and centrifuges.
• Performs reagent optimization and functionality testing on hematology medical devices. Use computer program(s) to test, process and evaluate product test results.
• Execute simple calculations according to procedures, and maintains accurate records of work performed according to GLP, GMP, and QSRs. All paperwork and other minor administrative tasks must be completed daily at the beginning and/or end of the shift.
• Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained.
• Requires interface with Quality Control Manager, Technical Operations, Quality Assurance, and/or Development personnel.
• Completes work with a limited degree of supervision

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 5+ years’ experience; or an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or related Life Science field, with 3+ years’ experience
  • Certified Medical Technologist preferred
  • Experience in whole blood manual reference methods a plus
  • Direct experience working in a testing lab strongly preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Understanding of basic statistics.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
