Description

  • Clinical Microbiology Technical Support ensures products meet capability requirements and satisfy customer needs. Apply research and in-depth scientific knowledge to resolve product issues and make improvements. Evaluate, test, and optimize new applications for products. May provide product demonstrations and/or publish written reports. May assist customers to resolve significant product technical/performance issues. Works collaboratively across the business to build partnerships with R&D, Marketing, Service and Technical Application Specialists, Hotline and Customer Training to ensure high customer satisfaction.

      Commercial Support:

    • Provide technical escalation support for in-depth troubleshooting of microbiology assays, customer set-up and workflow issues.
    • Act as the “SME” content owner and technical reviewer for Customer Facing and Service Support Literature
    • Review and approve assay product Design Changes.
    • Provide MicroScan assay and labeling expertise on regulations, guidelines and industry standards as it relates to Microbiology.
    • Performs CAP Survey Proficiency Testing: process CAP survey isolates, identify testing to be performed on MicroScan products, interpret testing results and draw upon lab testing experience to resolve issues associated with survey challenge isolates. Collect, review and submit results for CAP Survey Proficiency Testing. Generates and publishes reports.
    • Contributes to assessing the impact and clinical significance of nonconformances, MIS ID and MIC issues related to potential MDR events.
    • Has knowledge of resistance mechanisms with organisms, and the impact to patient care.
    • Roll out field modification campaigns and manage installation pacing against goals
    • Generate, update and publish Customer Facing Technical Support Documentation on the Beckman Customer Website.

     New Product Development:

    • Provides support for new application and software development projects including panel delivery (PD) and new assays.
    • Supports product launches by creating and delivering product training to Technical Applications personnel.
    • Collect Voice of the Customer from End Users and Technical Application Specialists.
    • Create, update and verify software installation instructions for PD projects.
    • Provides SME guidance on Adult Therapy Guide, Nomenclature Changes, Alert Rules, Exceptions and Limitations. 
    • Supports consumable OEM product commercialization elements including FAQ’s, knowledge transfer to Hotline and Technical Application organizations.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering field with 5+ years exp. OR a master’s degree in field with 3+ years exp. OR a doctoral degree in field with 0-2 years exp
    • Prefer background as Medical Technologist with work experience in Clinical Microbiology/ Bacteriology
    • Familiarity with Standard Laboratory Practices, including Quality Control, record keeping, and regulatory requirements (CAP)
    • Understanding of Diagnostics or Healthcare Industry with emphasis on Laboratory Regulatory environment is a plus.
    • Proven excellence in communication, presentation and facilitation skills
    • Possess clear, concise and accurate written and verbal communications
    • Ability to influence and collaborate across business functions
    • Highly Flexible and self-motivated
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Works Monday through Friday on average 40 hours per week
