We are currently seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to support our growing

Aerospace business.

Position Objective: 

Come work for the best fluid handling and filtration team in the Aerospace business!
We’re looking for a Senior Stress Engineer to come and join our team in Portsmouth.

As a Senior Stress Engineer you will be responsible for undertaking stress analysis tasks in support of the Global Aerospace design organisations.


Role and Duties:

  • Vibration, structural and material analysis of parts and assemblies
  • Preparation and delivery of stress related work packages and reports
  • Delivery of right-first-time structural optimisation during bids and design phases
  • Define physical product testing and analyse results
  • Creation, development and promotion of best practice through standard work
  • Liaise with all functions to understand requirements and propose possible solutions
  • Identify, manage and mitigate risk
  • Manage and develop off-load capability and platform development roadmap
  • Subject Matter Expert for FEA and stress analysis, Mentor other associates
  • Engage Design Authorities when required for design approval
  • Liaise with customers in conjunction with the Design Authority, regarding analysis
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Adhere to the design processes set out in the QMS
  • Support department Continuous Improvement activities
  • Project manage tasks and third-party suppliers as required

Job Requirements


Basic Qualifications/ Experience: 

  • An Engineering Degree or an alternate engineering qualification with suitable levels of experience

  • FEA analysis of complex systems in regulated industries (Aerospace preferred)

  • The ability to write accurate and concise substantiation reports

  • Stress analysis with ability to run hand calculations to complement FEA tools

  • Knowledge of modelling and analysis of aluminium and composite materials

  • Good presentation skills

  • Use of stress analysis software packages (ABAQUS / ANSYS preferred)

  • Proven experience of computer aided design (CATIA V5 preferred)
