You will need a wide range of skills and abilities and will play a critical role in driving software product development efforts spanning our software platform and vertical applications for our scientific analytical product lines. Our software projects follow Agile development methodologies and create products for MS-Windows and cloud-based systems. Some projects also integrate with hardware projects developing our Mass Spectrometer instruments and peripherals.
  • Mange the planning, controlling and co-ordination of a software project team to deliver based on the project goals
  • Facilitate planning activities with key milestones, monitor progress against plans, and determine appropriate corrective action if straying from plan
  • Ensure projects are delivered within the approved schedule, scope, and budget
  • Motivate teams to collaborate, communicate, and deliver on commitments, including driving ownership and accountability to the team.
  • Determine project needs of resources/skills and equipment
  • Produce and deliver project-related communication such as status reports, visual management, progress metrics, etc.
  • Ensure SW Development Processes are followed, including our Agile practices
  • Monitor the execution and deliverables of functions within the project to ensure they are in accordance with applicable Quality Management Processes
  • Ensure that the required project documentation is complete and archived
  • Manage and measure the team's performance of project tasks
  • Not just track tasks from a high level but get into the details, understand the problems, and drive identification of solution
  • Participate in defining and rolling-out Project Management best practices and tools and evangelizing continuous improvement

Job Requirements


  • 8+ years of software project management experience including experience with both Agile and Waterfall software development environments
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience leading large software teams (10-20 people) and/or multiple simultaneous projects
  • PMP, ACP, and/or SCRUM Master certification is highly beneficial
  • Software development experience is highly beneficial
  • A Life Sciences background is highly beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must communicate effectively with the project team, other PMs, Managers, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work with a diverse team and possibly remote teams
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management within an organization
  • Demonstrates good analysis, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Quick learner, innovative, proactive, flexible, and adaptable.  
  • Willing to seek out knowledge in technically/scientifically relevant areas.  
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, MS Project, SharePoint or other resource management and tracking tools
  • Ability to travel occasionally
