Description

Our team is looking to add another engineer who can help design and build software for new, next generation instruments! The team is responsible for a product that includes a UI, database and machine control software, requiring knowledge and experience in a broad set of technologies and concepts.


The team uses Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio 2017, C#, WPF, SQL server, Windows 10) to develop the software. We work closely with other software development teams at our site and at other sites around the world. As part of this team you also get to interact with cross functional engineering teams including electrical, mechanical and system engineers.

  • Participate on an agile scrum team as a high performing, individual contributor who takes initiative to get the job done
  • Develop verification protocols using C# and Windows Automation Framework for use in automated regression testing in a virtual environment; and semi-automated protocols for use in laboratory and on hardware scenarios
  • Produce high quality documentation to support the maintenance and review of the software to clearly communicate the quality of the product
  • Collaborate in the troubleshooting and determination of root cause of failures
  • Participate in technical decisions affecting product modules and/or subsystems, including functional specifications and technical reviews
  • Analyze and write requirements to support the design
  • Be relentless in making our process and product better. We plan time to solve our systemic problems and expect team members to help expose them and find creative solutions.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
  • Experience writing code in an object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java or C++
  • Experience troubleshooting software failures at all levels (UI to motion control)
  • Experience writing robust documentation (that will allow your manager to clearly communicate our evidence of product quality during an FDA audit while a VP is looking at them with laser beam eyes from across the board room table)
  • Worked in a product development environment where quality is a major driver of release schedules
  • Worked with modern version control, bug tracking and requirement management systems
