Description

Our innovative analytical solutions for cell and protein biology enable our customers to see more, do more, and know more, and to answer life's most important questions. We are looking for someone knowledgeable in object oriented design and Agile software processes to help advance our imaging software suite by using the latest techniques and practices. You must be self-reliant in designing and implementing new components and contributing to a large code base and will report to the Software Engineering Manager. Significant development opportunities exist to increase the understanding of modern user interfaces, data analysis and measurement/instrument software and their efficient implementation. Work with a very experienced and successful Agile software team and enhance your coding skills.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and debug changes to new and existing software applications
  • Share in code and design reviews with Agile team
  • Create unit tests for software components
  • Collaborate with customer team to translate customer requirements to project requirements
  • Work with software testers or technical support to reproduce and debug issues in existing products
  • Provide input to the customer issue review team
  • Occasional customer / site visits & training
  • Create user-friendly interfaces and workflows
  • Integrate 3rd party software components into existing software applications

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience in a professional software engineering group
  • Proficiency with C++, C# and .NET
  • Experience working successfully in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and help the team succeed
  • Results oriented – has track record of delivering results, takes ownership and is accountable

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in source control, Visual Studio, unit test environment, continuous build systems
  • Experience with project management systems such as Jira or TFS
  • Experience with web communication technologies such as Akka, AngularJS, Nancy
  • Experience working on an Agile team
  • Experience with image analysis, computer vision, machine learning
  • Familiarity with design patterns
