Would you like to work as part of a friendly Agile team to design and develop software products? You can play a role in software specification including the development of requirements, specifications, design documents and presentations. Translate feature requests into technical specifications and confer with internal users and other stakeholders. Ensure problems are effectively reviewed to deliver creative and logical solutions using sound design principles that satisfy requirements. Influence design and architectural decisions. Anticipate bottlenecks, mitigate project risks, make tradeoffs and help balance the business needs versus the technical constraints. Lead software module implementation and take eventual ownership of large parts of the product and oversee and continuously improve their maintainability and technical quality. Evaluate new software development technologies, tools and practices. Recommend adoption of new tools where applicable. Provide technical mentorship to junior and intermediate level teammates and contribute to continuous improvement of the processs, technologies and tools. Create very high complexity code and algorithms as well as other advanced technical solutions.

Job Requirements


  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 8+ years’ experience in designing and developing applications using OOP/OOD with 3+ years of experience in C++ and COM
  • Excellent logical and analytical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to deal well with ambiguous or insufficiently defined problems and make quick yet well-informed decisions
  • Practical knowledge of sound development practices and principles and a proven ability to implement those
  • Solid understanding of software fundamentals, regardless of language, framework, platform, or technology
  • Passion about what you do and aspiration to both learn and inspire others
  • Tenacity and persistence in solving complex problems while keeping cool even (and especially) under stress and in a crisis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with C# or other OO languages
  • Ability to communicate technology related matters with non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with component based development and/or interface driven design
  • Experience with design and implementation of n-tier systems, reusable libraries and development frameworks
  • Experience with modern version control and ticketing systems such as Git and Jira
  • Experience with CI and CD pipelines such as TeamCity
  • Experience with developing software for life sciences or medical device products
  • A background in Chemistry would be considered a substantial benefit
