Description

Purpose
of the Position: 
Work as part of a research team developing new
products related to nucleic acid preparation including nucleic acid extraction,
nucleic acid purification, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), high-throughput
biology, CRISPR/Cas9, and other genomic workflows.




Summary:



We are
looking for an experienced scientist with excellent bench and experimental
design skills. Must have experience in nucleic acid/molecular biology methods
and preferably experience in DNA extraction, NGS, or other high-throughput
biology workflows involving nucleic acids. Must be a strong team player with
ability to work effectively within small to large internal teams to support new
product development. Will work as part of research teams developing new innovative
products in the genomics space.




Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
:

Create innovative reagent kits and
research products to meet customer needs

Develop technical solutions to product
design and performance issues.
Experimental design, execution,
analysis and documentation to support new product development
Function as a productive member of a
research team
Collaborate with internal partners to
achieve project objectives and deliver timely innovative solutions to meet
business needs

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Education and Experience

Masters degree + 3 years of experience or Doctoral degree in an appropriate field. 

Industry experience desired.
Technical expertise in nucleic acid isolation methods and downstream applications required.
Experience with design and development of consumable or reagent assays for research and/or clinical diagnostics highly desired
In depth understanding of chemical or mechanistic interactions between nucleic acids and surfaces, reagents, or other molecules highly desired.
Experience with NGS sample preparation and library construction desired
Knowledge and mastery of phase-gated development processes in regulated environments
Ability to understand complex scientific and engineering concepts
Proactive, results-oriented, self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Location: 

The position will be based in Indianapolis, Indiana and require up to 5% travel.
