The Senior R&D Engineering role will be responsible for product and applications development for chromatographic processing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare deliverables, manuscripts/PPTs/application notes. 20%

• Analyze data using Excel and Design of Experiments with Minitab. 10%

• Perform project management. 15%

• Set up and operation of chromatography systems (AKTA for single column and BioSMB for continuous multi column operation). 30%

• Design complex experiments to understand design space of operation 10%

• Perform analytics (mAb quantitation, ELISA, HPLC) to monitor performance of chromatography processes 5%

• Present data with PPT. Lab maintenance support including inventory & purchases, 5S lab organization 5%

• Occasional travel to conferences and to customer sites 5%

Job Requirements


• Minimum BS degree (Chemical Engineer preferred) with MS degree preferred in an Engineering discipline with at least 4 years of experience in a relevant field or a Ph.D in a relevant field

• Knowledge of downstream process purification and process development required

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Must be able to work autonomously

• Must be able to prepare complex reports/manuscripts

• Chromatography experience  with AKTA systems is required

• Experience with Design of Experiments required, preferably with Minitab

• Process development skills for mAb purification are required

• Experience with continuous processing and ideally continuous chromatography is a plus

• Detail oriented

• Well organized

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

• Ability to adequately record, analyze and document data

• Ability to reproducibly follow established procedures

• Good hands-on laboratory skills
