Job Description:


The Senior Procurement Specialist will lead, develop and implement advanced supply chain strategies that will drive direct and indirect cost savings. This position will follow procurement best practices, programs and procedures in a dynamic, project-based, custom engineered environment.


Responsibilities:


1. Advanced negotiation, procurement and management of various components, services and commodities including complex commodities such as structural steel fabrication, electrical control panels, final equipment assembly, rotating equipment and buyout equipment

2. Manages 3rd Party Equipment Assembly suppliers and maintains accurate project schedules with multiple suppliers and 3rd Party Inspection firms

3. Reviews requisitions and Engineering releases for completeness to ensure items and services quoted are a match, specifications are met and scope of work is entirely captured

4.  Develop RFP's and RFQ's to support engineering specifications and project requirements

5. Cost Data Management - Ensure the most accurate and up to date material costs are updated and communicated across the business

6. Supplier Management – Ensure that suppliers are being evaluated on their performance and when required they are committed to and making improvements. Sources, qualifies, develops and approves suppliers using an established supplier qualification process.

7. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action

8. Accurately maintain Project Procurement Plans and Project Materials Budgets

9. Annual Cost Reduction Programs - develop a strategic plan to manage the total spend of specific categories and drive continual cost reduction

10. Annual Supply Agreements – develop and implement master suppler agreements for responsible categories

11. Commodity Teams - Participate with other Pall / Danaher entities, locations and employees to consolidate multiple business center discretionary volumes and use this leverage to negotiate further cost reductions on specific categories

12. Ensure the adherence to all required Pall compliance programs and policies

13. Value Analysis Programs - Engage other business disciplines and vendors to develop methods of cost reduction through the use of new materials and designs

14. Has the ability to understand and effectively prioritize workload and work closely with peers and cross functional partners to efficiently manage Final Equipment Assembly with 3rd Party Suppliers

15. Coach and mentor other Buyers within the Supply Chain Department as required

16. Resolve invoice discrepancies

17. Must possess the capability of managing a global supply base and must also have the ability to travel internationally

Assists Purchasing Manager in the following areas:

1. Guidance & support of the Procurement staff.

2. Development of training initiatives for equipment/products purchased.

3. Help identify & implement business improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Qualifications:


BS in Business or Supply Chain Management OR a combination of education and relevant experience

5 to 7 years Procurement experience
Prefer ISM certification or commitment to pursue on a yearly basis

Preferred:


Experience working with Applications & Project Engineers in a project environment.
Experience procuring custom engineered equipment.
MRP / ERP materials planning system experience. SAP experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
