• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions driving strategic improvements across the departments involved in supply chain management 
• Oversee materials schedules and the efficient movement of materials with purchasing and manufacturing 
• Ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at minimum acceptable levels. 
• Process improvement for managing inventory associated with product changes and spare parts 
• Responsible for ensuring materials are ordered and in stock to meet manufacturing requirements while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, accuracy and budgeted turns 
• Ensure compliance to material management best practices through process creation and process improvement 
• Drives the continuous improvement cycle to realize year on year incremental improvements and cost savings 
• Establishment of strategic purchasing plans 
• Negotiate/re-negotiate key-supplier contracts and amendments 
• Generate and maintain compliant and site-specific documentation related to the materials function
• Driving Risk-/Supplier management 

Job Requirements


• The function requires a graduate or post graduate degree in engineering science, in Operations/Materials/Business/Supply Chain or equivalent knowledge. Master's degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in Management of Production an Inventory Control, Operations, Purchasing or Manufacturing Engineering
• Experience in material control/production planning environment
• Solid knowledge of lean-management concepts (or KVP)
• Must be familiar with processes related to budgeting, standard costing accounting and assessments of suppliers
• 2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Proven success of building and leading a team and developing talent
• Very good spoken and written English and German
