Description

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing/Process Engineering, will lead a high performing team of engineers, scientists, and support staff with a focus on Immunoassay consumables products. Primary tasks include driving team enablement and development and setting team strategy to facilitate completion of projects that deliver value to the company, facilitate growth, and meet cost, quality, and delivery objectives.  

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Manager will lead a multi-disciplinary team and partner with peers, leveraging best practices and resources across the BEC Dx global network, to drive consistent YoY improvement. Primary focus includes product quality improvements, manufacturing process improvements, and direct material cost savings through VAVE. This leader will assure team and individual development, including competence and skillset mapping, while participating in setting team strategy. This role will also focus on improving business processes and growing systems, including standardized metrics and Visual Daily Management, to ensure successful project completion. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Set department strategy, vision, and aligned objectives with a focus on innovation
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and facilitate development of highly skilled staff of engineers, scientists, and support associates
  • Deliver product and process improvements for the Reagent Consumables business that meet team objectives
  • Identify and guide department level countermeasures to close performance gaps 
  • Build and maintain partnership with peers, departments, and sites to achieve company objectives
  • Assure appropriate use of the Danaher Business System (DBS) throughout the department and across projects and team initiatives
  • Set and oversee department budgets including expense, resources, and capital
  • Interact with senior leadership to communicate department performance toward aligned objectives, action plans, and countermeasures
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures
 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

Strong Engineering or Science background with Product Development and/or Manufacturing Process experience of 14+ years. Related experience must include 4 years of managing people.  Candidate must have at least a Bachelors degree in relevant area. Proven track record of working in GMP environment with automated chemistry/biochemistry/microbiology/manufacturing production lines. Desire +5 years project management skills, and are confident with standard tools like visual management, risk analysis, budgeting, reporting and problem solving. Proven people management skills, and experience with the Danaher DBS toolbox is an advantage. Experience with obsolescence and EOL, CAPA, design changes in a regulated environment are highly desired.
