Position Summary 
The Sr. Global Content Marketing Manager will think like a marketer and publish like a journalist.  Working across a global organization, this individual is responsible for developing, curating, managing and distributing compelling early stage / awareness content based on a thorough understanding of customer needs, business objectives, and best practices.  This content will include articles, blog posts, videos, podcasts, and case studies. 
Additionally, this individual will play a key role in driving the company’s reputation, global and corporate internal communications. This individual will own day-to-day management of Internal and Executive Communications as well as PR efforts working closely with all facets of the business to develop, lead and execute the overall strategy across multiple channels.
At its core, this role is about creating thought leadership content and compelling stories that showcase the value of Leica Biosystems. The ideal candidate is someone who loves to create process, write, is a storyteller, marketer, and has B2B public relations experience.
The Sr. Manager will partner with business and strategic stakeholders, work with cross functional teams and leadership and interface with Sr. Leadership in the organization.  The Sr. Manager may lead and manage direct report(s).

Major Responsibilities 

Content Marketing
⦁ Lead the development of compelling and engaging early stage awareness content that connects customers with Leica Biosystems. Curate and edit content as needed.  
⦁ Proactively monitor customer and market trends to inform content strategy and topic roadmap.
⦁ Work closely with BU's, SU's and digital team to publish and promote finished articles and other thought leadership assets to meet brand and campaign objectives. Manage editorial calendar.
⦁ Develop and maximize the quality of content produced by a creative network: writers, designers, video creators

Customer Engagement
⦁ Stay abreast of trends and new thinking to drive deep customer engagements.
⦁ Leverage analytics and commercial insights to develop fresh and relevant content strategies and content.
⦁ Test new tactics and messaging options. Continually refine based on analytics and customer insights.



Internal Communications
⦁ Partner with VP Global Marketing and HR to design and execute strategic internal communications plans and messaging to inspire, engage and align associates with our vision and mission.
⦁ Develop the internal communications strategy and lead message development and campaigns for business priorities and key initiatives. 
⦁ Manage and leverage internal communication platforms and channels such as newsletters, the President’s quarterly virtual video townhalls, video blogs, podcasts, SharePoint and others to support business leadership initiatives.
⦁ Maintain a calendar of topics for internal communications including special write-ups for key global holidays.
⦁ Be an integral member of the planning team for the President’s annual Q1 meeting (LBC).
⦁ Set quality standards and effectiveness measures for content of communication materials, distribution and timeliness.
External Communications
⦁ Develop the PR strategy, messaging and campaigns for business priorities and key initiatives. 
⦁ Drive thought leadership more broadly in our industry.
⦁ Partner with marketing and product teams to manage PR product launches, innovation and company announcements.
⦁ Manage a variety of external communication tasks including developing press releases, key messaging, talking points and maintaining up-to-date media and blogger lists for outreach purposes, investigating and researching information needed to respond to media inquiries.
⦁ Develop and manage the social media strategy and influencer outreach
⦁ Evaluate efforts using metrics & analytics, building upon successful campaigns/initiatives.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, Skills

Education:  Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or relevant discipline.  

Experience/Skills:

⦁ 7 – 10 years relevant content marketing and management experience

⦁ 5+ years of experience working in PR/Communication role developing, executing and integrating communications plans, preferably in healthcare.

⦁ Track record of writing marketing messages and content.

⦁ Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing direct reports, agencies and freelance.

⦁ Experience developing and driving internal communications for HR partners and Sr. Leadership

⦁ Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, senior editors, news reporters, etc.

⦁ Experience gaining internal consensus


Desired Education, Experience, Skills

Education:  MBA preferred.

Experience/Skills:

⦁ Prior experience as a marketing manager or strategic marketing a plus (to include segmentation, customer experience, personas, customer profiles, positioning, identifying unique points of differentiation, competitive intelligence).

⦁ A solid understanding of Leica Biosystems market or solutions and the needs they fulfil for customers.

⦁ A solid understanding of DBS tools and processes related to the position 

⦁ Excellent oral and written communication skills required as this is a high visibility position, interacting with multiple external and internal constituents across all levels of associates, including L1 Sr. Management


Travel: International travel is required in this role as part of the responsibilities of this position; estimated 2 – 3 times/year
