Description

Overview

As a member of the R&D Firmware Team, you will design firmware for Leica market-leading microscopy products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop large embedded firmware or software for medical and other mission-critical systems
  • Involve in entire firmware development lifecycle including requirement engineering, architectural design, coding, testing and maintenance
  • Design and develop firmware to realize new solutions
  • Assume overall responsibility for the delivery and quality of the new solutions
  • Organize and perform peer reviews of own and other developers’ designs and development work
  • Provide support for system design verification and validation
  • Provide support for analysis and countermeasures for field returns
  • Comply and adhere to the regulatory, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and company’s  EHS requirement

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • PhD, Masters or good Bachelor degree in Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in embedded software or firmware development
  • in-depth knowledge of complex embedded software/firmware development on Linux, RTOS or embedded Windows platform
  • good awareness of emerging technologies and trends in the embedded software industry
  • ability to leverage on these developments to improve the software/firmware development work
  • to be successful, you also need good knowledge and experience in the following development process areas:

o Software Requirement Engineering

o Embedded Software/ Firmware Architecture Design

o Firmware development using C/C++ on embedded platform

o Coding Standards

o Peer Review

o Software Testing and Quality Management
