Description

If you are interested in contributing towards the actual development of cutting edge microscopy products as opposed to just design transfer, this role is for you! 



Leica Microsystems is looking for a Electronics Engineers for our Singapore plant.  As a member of the Electronics team, you will work within an environment of advanced digital imaging and precision motion control in the development of market leading microscopy products.  


In your daily life, you will collaborate with engineers from Firmware, Optics, Mechanical, Software, and Testing.  This role also affords you working exposure with the Electronics team globally.  Some travel, although minimal, should therefore be expected. 



 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop electronic subsystems for control of surgical and industrial microscope.
  • Perform architect design, circuit design, firmware development of electronic subsystems.
  • Ensure proper selection of electronics components for new product development.
  • Liaise with supplier and operation for design improvement.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to regulatory requirements of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 and company’s EHS requirement. 
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives and projects.





Job Requirements



Qualifications

 Requirements: 

  • Master degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering, with a minimum of three years experience in electronics design and firmware development. 
  • Good knowledge and experience in the design of real-time embedded system for servo system, robotics, motion control, and computerized control.
  • Competency in PCBA design is a must.
  • Knowledge or experience in some of the following areas is an added advantage:

o   USB, CAN bus, I2C bus and microprocessor architecture.

o   Control theory

o   FPGA design

o   Power regulator circuit and analog circuit electronics design

o   Software development using Visual C++ on Windows platform
