Description

The Senior Electrical
Engineer will support Sustaining Engineering activities within the Development
Organization for our Life Science Products (Particle Characterization,
Capillary Electrophoresis, Centrifuge, and Liquid Handling Automation)



Support efforts to
resolve product technical issues impacting product quality, delivery, and cost.
Responsible for solving complex technical issues in product design thru
structured problem solving, development of engineering solutions using
technical skills and structured design tools (DFMEA, Simulation Analysis, etc.)
and implementation of design changes while adhering to company procedures and
industry and regulatory standards. Applies analytical skills to interpret data
and uses independent judgment and discretion in developing solutions to a
variety of work problems of moderate scope and complexity.



 



Essential Functions




  • Responsible for the completion of electrical design
    projects from conception, definition, design, and release to production
    targeted to resolve product design issues impacting external customer
    quality, operational metrics (delivery, yield, cost), and other product
    change drivers (regulatory, feature enhancements, etc.)

  • Responsible for leading and supporting design change
    team activities in order to document and implement design changes in
    compliance with design control procedures.

  • Develops and executes component and/or system tests to
    verify performance of mechanical components/systems to documented design
    requirements.

  • Responsible for maintaining and updating product
    related documentation (both drawings and ERP system information) thru
    design and documentation control procedures (Design Change Plans,
    Verification Reports, Documentation Change Control (COR's), etc.)


Job Requirements



Qualifications


  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
    Engineering Technology with 5+ years experience in product development and
    product engineering support role or Masters Degree with 3+ years
    experience.

  • Technical experience with AC/DC Power Supply Designs,
    AC/DC Motors and Motor Control Systems Design, PC/Microprocessor Control
    Technology/Systems, and Digital Display Systems

  • Technical experience with instrumentation (equipment)
    design and integration including optical systems, electro-mechanical
    systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, and/or thermal systems also a plus

  • Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and improve
    electrical and electromechanical systems using formal problem solving
    methodology with analytical and statistical methods.

  • Experience with project leadership in managing design
    change activity, executing DFMEA analysis, developing DOE’s, developing
    and executing supporting test verification protocols, leading technical
    reviews activity, and coordination with procurement and suppliers

  • Ability to self-manage projects that can range in
    length of 3-9 months

  • Experience in dealing with design changes in a
    structured design control/change environment for medical devices.

  • Excellent technical writing and MS Office skills
    required with attention to detail.
