  • Provide direction and support, managing without authority the international group of business leaders and develop leadership and operational planning to achieve all agreed objectives, navigating effectively within a complex global environment.

  • Monitor the HBDC performance to ensure the business is on track to deliver against its plan.

  • Provide regular reporting and feedback to key internal stakeholders

  • Effectively represent Cepheid in the market place and Global Health communities developing effective relationships with key stakeholders

  • Ensure positive collaboration between the Global Access and the commercial teams. Two-way communication is essential.

  • Regularly visit key partners, customers, donors, users and Governments in order to ensure effective dialogue exists and is maintained in coordination with the Global AccessTeam.                                                                                                                                                                                                          

  • Gather and interpret market data developing and presenting appropriate strategic recommendations

• Given the rapid growth of our HBDC program, it is necessary to delegate the local work to our existing commercial group while we create a Global Access team to continue to develop the network with international organizations and plant the seeds for the future.
• To that end, the incumbent will ensure the continued success and execution of the HBDC business plan, and interact with the regional teams to ensure that the business fundamentals are in place. In particular, the accuracy of planning, forecasting and weekly Revenue Assurance Team (RAT) meeting data are of crucial importance. A close relationship with the Finance, Customer Service and Business Operation Manager will be instrumental to achieve the desired accuracy level.
• The incumbent will contribute to positioning Cepheid as a partner in Global Health, interacting with major stakeholders such as WHO, the Global Fund, USAID Pepfar, Unitaid, CHAI, FIND, etc.
• As part of the Global Access Team, the incumbent will collaborate with his peers and play a significant role in strategy definition as well as more tactical approaches.

Job Requirements


Experience, qualifications, skills required:

  • Master Degree or equivalent qualification

  • Knowledge of Infectious Diseases and Clinical Diagnostics

  • Able to demonstrate a strong and consistent track record of success at a senior level with a minimum of 10 years’ management experience in both the

    • International Healthcare industry with a strong general business management track record and P&L responsibility

    • Global Health environment

  • Able to successfully operate in complex organisations

  • Able to build effective relationships in a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment

  • Demonstrating a high degree of cultural sensitivity and political acumen

  • Demonstrates the ability to develop and control global budgets with clear focus on delivering the results

  • Excellent Leader and people manager leading diverse, remote and virtual teams

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, ideally with French and another language

  • Able to manage a significant amount of global travel

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement/Kaizen projects

Other Requirements:

  • Significant amount of travel, close to or beyond 50% of time

  • Open to multicultural environment
