The Bioprocess Applications Specialist will join a dynamic and innovative company at the forefront of the rapidly growing single-use and cell culture markets. You will be the technical expert for  Pall’s single-use bench- and large-scale bioreactors  as well as other cell culture technologies. 
You are an experienced Process Development/Upstream Scientist and trusted partner to our biopharmaceutical clients. You love traveling and look forward to delivering best in class installation and training services, process optimization and technology transfer/scale-up, and general applications support.
You will work with Pall colleagues including R&D, marketing, product management, sales and manufacturing engineering to ensure Pall technologies continue to serve the evolving needs of our customers in the bioprocess industry. 
This position will be located at our Center of Excellence located in Westborough, MA and requires approximately 50-60% travel.
  • Support installation, training, troubleshooting, process development, technology transfer/scale-up, and documentation for Pall bioreactors at customer sites 
  • Drive customer adoption of Pall technologies by assuring customer preparedness for technology evaluation, providing follow up data analysis, process development consultation, and general troubleshooting services
  • Work in coordination with Pall's sales force to respond to customer requests for applications support, system optimization and undertake presentations, demonstrations, testing and evaluations of Pall technologies, both at Pall and at customer sites.
  • Work closely with other cell culture experts in the Pall applications team to execute cell culture process development projects for customers using both Pall and generic technologies to meet customer process performance milestones.
  • Support and train customers during start-up of bioreactor systems. 
  • Assist product managers in the development of technical sales tools such as application notes, reports, publications and presentations.
  • Provide application and product training support to the sales and marketing team as required.

  • Cell culture and bioprocess engineering expertise.
  • Good organizational skills, ability to multitask, and develop expertise on many new technologies

  • Flexibility to adapt travel schedule in response to evolving commercial priorities.

  • Follow standardized work procedures and protocols

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or engineering field.
  • Experience of running and optimizing a wide variety of cell culture processes including large scale bioreactors.
  • A minimum of 3 years hands-on cell culture process development or similar experience in the pharmaceutical /biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior experience compiling technical information into technical reports and presentations
  • Ability to travel to local and national client sites
Preferred Qualifications
  • Customer facing experience
  • Software for cell culture and process control would be beneficial.
  • Experience with protein therapeutics and cell/gene therapy applications, downstream purification, and analytical techniques is also desired.
