Description

The Senior Accountant is a critical role in the Company and is responsible for general accounting, monthly reconciliation, account analysis, reporting and process improvements for Leica Biosystems (LBS) businesses in the Americas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Analyze accounts, understand where adjustments are needed and prepares journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations following success criteria.
  • Ensures a clear understanding of Financial Statements (P&L and Balance Sheets) and corresponding explanations are provided to the business units.
  • Review and analyze account balances and related fluctuations for propriety, accuracy and completeness on a timely basis.
  • Design and complete summaries, supplementals and reports as needed.
  • Execute specific analysis and transactions (i.e., sales tax compliance, payments reviews, peer reviews and payments).
  • Own specific horizontal processes (i.e., Fixed Assets, Cash, Inventory, Taxes) for all Company codes in scope.
  • Manage to ensure compliance with GAAP and Danaher/LBS policies.
  • Monitors internal control compliance with assigned areas and works with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Embraces ‘white space’ – takes responsibility for areas they are not directly responsible for. Give credit to others and takes blame on own shoulders. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the field of Accounting/Finance is required.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
    • SAP experience strongly preferred.
    • Cash/Treasury experience preferred.
    EDUCATION 
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field equivalent required.
    • CPA strongly preferred.
