The Primary Care Division (PCD) Sales Representative will be responsible for the sales, planning, forecasting, and development and maintenance of relationships with distribution partners to grow their territory revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals are met for the Non Acute segments. Additionally the PCD Sales Representative will act on leads, identify and coordinate sales efforts by partnering with authorized distributors and with their Acute Care direct sales team within their territory of responsibility.

This position covers, MI, OH and WV - the person should live in the geography, ideally in a major metro area.

Essential Job Responsibilities: 
  • Overall performance of the sales representatives in assigned territory.
  • Understanding and utilizing key influences for developing and closing sales via distribution in Physician Offices labs, Regional Reference Labs, Urgent Care, Student Health, Community Health Centers, Public Health Labs and health systems.  Driving physician office adoption of new diagnostic methods. Developing and implementing customer -specific action plans. Negotiating contracts. Developing and delivering presentations and proposals. 
  • Attending, hosting and assisting regional meetings and product shows. Prospecting and recruiting sales personnel. Achieving sales goals.
  • The PCD Sales Representative will report directly to the PCD Regional Sales Manager at Beckman Coulter

Job Requirements


Minimum Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's Degree, in Life Sciences, Biology or Chemistry preferred
  • 2 to 5 years in medical capital equipment sales experience with proven accomplishments preferred
  • Or, capital sales success in another industry combined with medical experience
  • Med tech, clinical lab, or similar work experience helpful
  • Good organization and time management
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally with customers
  • Strategic and tactical planning
  •  Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications.
  • Ability to travel 50%+ 
Preferred Requirements (optional):  Any additional knowledge, skills, abilities that are above and beyond the minimum requirements.
  • Strong track record of success in both capital and reagent sales.
  • Expertise selling premium products.
  • Proactive approach to analyzing, diagnosing, forecasting and prescribing strategic business solutions to meet company sales goals.
  • Strong Relationship Building Skills with Sales and Executive Management
  • Maintains effective collaboration and coordination of internal resources to ensure company sales goals are met.
  • Experience planning and driving new product launch strategies in conjunction with Product Marketing.
  • Provides consistent field interaction and communication to ensure company's message is clearly communicated.
  • Ability to connect with and coordinate between key customers and internal/external stakeholders to promote and expand business opportunities.
  • Coordinate training events with sales personnel within the sales territory.
  • Experience and success selling to physicians, laboratories, and reference labs through distribution is a plus

An essential function of this position is the ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by assigned customers, which can include, by way of example only, periodic background checks and drug screening, immunizations, and training, and may vary by customer and change from time-to-time.  The Company pays the cost for any such vendor credentialing requirements.
