The purpose of this role is to plan and execute sales activities in UK (preferred Northern England & Scotland) for our X-Rite business to meet and exceed company targets for sales, market share growth and profitability. Integrated in the EMEA Sales organization and Sales channel network the Sales Manager executes the strategy and plans for a sustainable multiple years growth plan. The position reports to the Sales Director and is located in UK.

Essential Job Functions


Calling on prospective customers, provides technical expertise and product information and/or demonstrations, and quotes appropriate customer prices. Taking care for sales network development and maintenance, as well as for expanding existing accounts, focusing preliminarily on industries with color critical productions like coating & paint, plastics, textile, automotive, food, cosmetics, packaging, printing and digital imaging.

Commercial Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling required product mix with pricing guidelines set by the business unit

  • Prepare and present quotations and proposals

  • Negotiate and close orders for X-Rite products and services

  • Regularly report and communicate to sales management: sales forecasts, order activities, stages of negotiations, pricing levels and competitive information

  • Efficient sales territory and funnel opportunity management

  • Represent the company on trade shows and on conferences with speeches, presentations and demonstrations

  • Continuous Business Growth

  • Developing short and long-term Sales plans

  • Identifying new market opportunities

  • Devising strategies to meet sales objectives

  • Preparing and launching promotional resp. corrective actions

  • Sales Channel Management

  • Identify, manage and develop direct account as well as key dealers

  • Monitoring existing relationships with re-sellers

  • Monitoring sales performance within the re-seller network

  • Developing and building strategic relationships within the channel 

Job Requirements


  • At least 7 years of extensive sales and marketing experience with proven, successful track record during that time 

  • Business/economic degree preferable

  • Strong technical background, preferably with an expertise from one of the following areas – paint/textile/automotive/printing/design/plastic including hardware and software solutions preferred. A qualification in color critical matters would be a strong plus.

  • Proved ability to build long term effective relationships with all kind of business partners (distributors, dealers, key accounts, end-users, opinion makers) as well as the proven ability to manage and develop those

  • Excellent negotiations and communication skills, including public speeches, presentations, face-to-face communication

  • Result oriented, open-minded, pro-active, stress-resistant and analytically thinking with distinct planning and organizational skills

  • Able to work independently with only general guidance. Ability to work on its own, but also must be a ‘team worker’

  • Global mindset and readiness to travel extensively

  • Fluent in English (spoken as well as written)

  • Working experience with

  • Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally at all levels, both internally and externally

  • Experience of product demonstration to customers at different levels
