Description

The primary role of this position is to perform all sales activities relating to the Industry sector, within the North West England region, in order to achieve substantial sales growth focussing on industrial applications for Hach products.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • To develop sales action plans identifying: sales objectives, sales opportunities, major customers, and regional shows to be attended during the following fiscal year.
  • To participate in sales activities including: customer site visits, telephone contacts, trade seminars and shows, product demonstrations and customer seminars.
  • To prepare regular sales data such as forecasts and maintain customer activity files in Salesforce system.
  • To collect and report information on all competitive activity within the assigned territory.
  • Meet or exceed monthly or annual targets.
  • Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building and professional development classes.
  • Cooperate with Sales team to determine essential approaches for sales.
  • Attend sales group meetings concerning sales targets or forecasts, reporting on market situation.
  • Ensure excellent customer service at all times.

Job Requirements



Qualifications

  • Previous successful selling experience into industrial customers, preferably selling water analysis solutions
  • A degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Environment Sciences or equivalent experience. Alternate science degrees will be considered as will an HND/HNC or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage bid opportunities
  • Experience with successfully cold calling accounts in order to secure sales and market information
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Comfortable representing products that are technical in nature, with experience gained in a technical product environment
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and the internet
