About the opportunity

Provide Sales of LBS products to a selected Territory in NZ in addition to providing Product Applications support to customers in the histopathology laboratory environment.Responsibility for meeting sales targets and providing Application support for all equipment in the clinical and research environments.

Reporting to the Country Manager - NZ, your duties & responsibilities are:

  • To support and maintain a wide range of histology equipment in line with company procedures.
  • Demonstrate accountability for assigned instruments as a factory trained Applications Specialist.
  • Identify and develop sales leads to increase customer base and instrument install base.
  • Possess sound administrative skills to complete all required tasks within the allocated time frame.
  • Adhere to all Sales and Applications policies and procedures.
  • Promote the company with customers and play an active role in customer retention initiatives.
  • Possess a sound analytical and technical ability to assess and deal with difficult problems.
  • Possess sound communication skills to address issues effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Determine, recommend and implement solutions to customer software and hardware-related requests.
  • Schedule own day-to-day activities for Sales and Application activities in NZ.
  • Identify potential training and product sales, or future business opportunities, recommending an action plan to the appropriate departments.
  • Do what it takes to drive results in a compliant manner.
  • Effective time management and personal organization.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Must have a sense of urgency and immediate impact.
  • Champion Danaher Business Systems to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following skills and experience:

Qualification and Education Required:

  • You will have a tertiary qualification in Science, Applied Science or related field(for Applications Support role)

  • Microsoft office competent.
  • Technically competent with strong people skills to promote teamwork needed to achieve reliability program objectives; ability to work in team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous Sales skills in the Pathology or Medical Device industry is highly desirable.
  • Previous Applications / Customer Support skills in the Pathology or Medical Device industry is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Anatomical Pathology Area of the laboratory is highly desirable.
  • Skills in Information Technology are desirable.
  • Analytical / problem solving skills:
    • ability to analyse and understand complex issues and consequently develop plans to capture opportunities,
    • possess an open and enquiring attitude in order to identify and avoid possible business and customer losses
    • ability to visualize customer disengagement trends and to escalate these to appropriate channels for follow up and resolution.
  • Be in possession of a valid NZ passport and driver’s license
  • Be in possession of and maintain a clear credit rating and no criminal conviction or legal action pending.
  • Be able to work under pressure and maintain discipline when situations become challenging.
  • Self-motivation, superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be punctual and comfortable working to deadlines.
  • Results and process-oriented approach.
  • Highly effective teamwork and communication skills: directed at focusing and
  • motivating the teams to success with a demonstrated ability to work with resources.
  • Technically competent to achieve reliability program objectives.

Travel:

  • As required from time-to-time in order to assist customers, primarily in New Zealand but also in Australia if required
  • Ability to undertake travel to international training events and conferences as required.
