Sales Analytics Lead will have the following primary responsibilities

1) Provide Sales Reporting, Analytics, and Insights to the Leica Biosystems Sales team

2) Drive the annual commercial planning support (territory planning, team sizing etc.) as well as long-term commercial strategic planning

3) Drive improved quantitative understanding of sales performance through support of sales Problem Solving Process (PSP)

4) Define and execute the overall strategy (tools, frequency, etc.) for effectively providing reliable commercial data to the sales teams

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely sales reports as well as proactive insights and recommendations to help drive Leica Biosystems NA Pathology business
  • Responsibilities range from sales data extraction, validation, manipulation, and analysis, to presentation of insights and recommendations to senior sales management
  • A key success factor is the ability to identify and implement opportunities to increase sales reporting package automation and accuracy
  • Enhance and augment existing sales reporting packages and analytical capabilities:
  • Enhance performance management dashboard and provide actionable insights from data analysis (sales and external data) to direct commercial team focus
  • Develop and implement key performance metrics that are good leading indicators of overall business performance (e.g., customer retention and size-of-wallet expansion)
  • Develop actionable reports to drive consumables growth (IHC and Core Histology)
  • Drive and support the development of additional analytical tools to improve sales force effectiveness (e.g., call route planning tool)
  • Provide Sales Management teams annual commercial planning support by formulating recommendations for sales territory alignment, Sales team structuring & sizing
  • Apply proactive, strategic thinking to develop and manage complex analysis in order to identify drivers behind sales performance including sales trends, product, and customer segment
  • Support sales teams as they perform Problem Solving Process (PSP) analysis by providing quantitative information needed to identify the root cause
  • Inspect the quality of critical user-entered data, and reinforce key data quality initiatives
  • Serve as the business owner of analytical tools (e.g., DOMO), develop and drive initiatives to improve tool usability and increase adoption within the sales teams.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or analytical field is preferred


  • 3+ years of experience in the healthcare and/or data analytics roles preferably
  • 5+ years of experience in Sales/Marketing Analytics and/or Sales Operations
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Sales and/or Marketing


  • Strong database query skills are required (specifically, MS Excel, MS Access or SQL)
  • Proficiency in building models and dashboards in MS Excel is required (Use of advanced formulas such as V/Hlookup, Index, Match, Advanced Filters as well as ability to write excel macros)
  • Basic database (MS Access) and SQL proficiency for analysis of large data sets
  • Experience in SalesForce reporting




  • Proactive, strategic thinking to develop and manage complex analysis in order to identify national and sub-national drivers behind sales performance including sales trends, product, and customer segment.
  • Able to distill down the ‘so-what’ of analysis for different sales leaders and present findings in a compelling manner to senior leadership across different levels in the organization
  • Strong analytics, quantitative, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and conduct analyses, and present insights and recommendations
  • Detail oriented with focus on quality and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop and maintain business relationships with various team members across the organization. Strong cross-functional skills with IT/finance teams required
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work with some or minimal direction and supervision *REQUIRED*
